Decent job except for The Skin I Live In winning foreign film....what the hell!? I guess The Separation didn't make it to Britain.

I think it's because Britain doesn't like the middle east. The Skin I Live In is from Spain which is part of Europe.

Having finally seeing The Artist, i was left feeling very diasppointed, for one it's not a silent film, it breaks the rules even if only for brief moments, but still a move to sound for no matter how short still disqualifies the film as a silent. For the most part it was rather dull and not at all funny with a very generic love story; it has brief flashes of intrigue but ultimately fails to deliver.

How can The Artist win best original score when the biggest climatic cue of that movie is taken from the score of Hitchcock's Vertigo composed by the great Bernard Herrmann.
I'm shocked Fassbender didn't win every single best actor award in the world for his performance in Shame!
