Critic Review - ReelViews

One of the great advantages of remaking a movie is being given the opportunity to correct problems - something not attempted here.

another sub-par review. Looks like too much action and not enough of psychological mind games.

I have not seen the movie yet so I cant fairly agree but the statement about remakes is so right and hollywood tends to forget that

The rating was brought down from an R to a PG-13 and all the trailers consisted of its action scenes. I do not expect any plot development in a last pitch to get into kids pockets before they head back out to school.

If you recall, the first movie was total perfection. I recall it being at least 3/2 as perfect as your total typical girl... I mean, movie... if you are trying to recall the total movie you are missing the boobs... I mean, point...

I hate the comparing to the originals when the original wasn't a great film. Yeah it was cool when I was young, but come? It's hardly close to a classic.

This one will turn out a classic ? With the ever so charismatic Beckinsale & Biel, the king remaker himself Colin farrell & 1996 CGI. Stop the press we have a classic on our hands !

I strongly disagree. The original holds up very well story-wise, and Arnold has 10,000 times the screen presence of Colin Ferrel. Gotta love the Johnny Cab who tries to kill Arnold, Michael Ironside, etc. The original Total Recall is SO fun and entertaining and while the science may not be solid... like at all, it's solid in the sense that it's damn good science fiction.

I too enjoyed Fright Night, but not near as much as the original.

This sounds to me to be the same. Might enjoy it but not as much as the original...which begs the question posed by Fright Night.

Why?

The original is Arnold's best movie. The new one is destined to bomb

I'll disagree.

Here are Arnie's Top Ten IMHO...

1. T2
2. Predator
3. Terminator
4. Conan
5. True Lies
6. Twins
7. Total Recall
8. Running Man
9. Commando
10. Eraser/T3 tie

I'll give a shout out to Pumping Iron but didn't include it as it was a documentary but a great film none the less. The only Arnie films I haven't seen are The Sixth Day and Stay Hungry.
