Critic Review - Chicago Sun-Times

The plot is preposterous. So what you need is a movie that floats with bemusement above the cockamamie, and actors who tease each other.

I am sad too, Corey G. It looked like such a promising film, but everyone dislikes it, and Ebert is usually on the ball with his reviews. Too bad!

people on the street seem to (rather strongly) disagree with critics on this one and it's not some loud franchise with crazy fans who buy anything.

Because of bad reviews like Ebert's I passed on seeing this one in a theater. My mistake. I just watched it on HD cable and enjoyed it. It has a slower-paced, European feel to it, but that ain't bad.
