Ever wonder what toys do when people aren't around? Disney/Pixar's TOY STORY answers that question with a fantastic fun-filled journey, viewed mostly through the eyes of two rival toys- Woody, the lanky, likable cowboy, and Buzz Lightyear, the fearless space ranger. Led by Woody, Andy's toys live happily in his room until Andy's birthday brings Buzz Lightyear onto the scene. Afraid of losing his place in Andy's heart, Woody plots against Buzz. But when circumstances separate Buzz and Woody from

Very much wished that I was able to catch these two in 3D. Reliving childhood that I hope will be around for many years so the new generations of kids can see it too.

You know, it's been a while since I've actually sat down and watched Toy Story. After seeing part 3, I kind've just lumped them all into one franchise of gloom and doom. This entry is way more light-hearted and just genuinely awesome; almost exactly like I remember it being when I was 6 years old. There's actually no purposeful tear jerking moments in here, as opposed to the waterfall reactor that is part 3. This allows itself to be a beautiful and perfectly crafted kid's movie. Woody and Buzz are toys that we can all relate to and Tom Hank and Tim Allen's chemistry together makes for one of the best comedy duos. Sid always gets me with his bedroom of terror and need to destroy everything plastic and plush. The ensemble toys are great here, but then again it's all pretty much golden here. It's nice to revisit the first two movies every few years and I feel as though they are a great double feature. If the series would've just ended with these two, it would be a crown jewel. But alas, Toy Story 3 stepped in and made these movies all about crying and feeling guilty about toy death.

Toy Story 2 is undoubtedly one of the greatest animated sequels, if not the best. Not only does it match the quality of the original, I feel that at sometimes it works even better. The world they set up in the original is expanded and we get to see not only Zurg, but the soulless Al of Al's Toy Barn. What I like about this is that it isn't just the same movie over again. Toy Story 2 has a completely different concept and explores a different side to these characters. I liked seeing the vintage memorabilia of Woody's Round-Up and Jessie and Bullseye, not to mention the absolutely genius of Kelsey Grammer's Prospector. He will always be known as the most vengeful toy of the series. However, what makes Toy Story 2 really hit home is the beautiful finale and message it has. It didn't have to do it with tears, but did it with a completely positive and upbeat attitude. It's almost the exact opposite message from Toy Story 3. As it stands for me, the real ending of this series is with part 2; it's the finest conclusion possible for these characters.
