Lasseter Confirms Toy Story 3 and Upcoming Pixar Projects

Summary

John Lasseter usually doesn't reveal anything about upcoming Pixar projects. Even though Toy Story 3 has been a known project ever since Disney threatened to make it without Pixar, Lasseter always dodges it. Finally, Lasseter has once-and-for-all confirmed it and discussed turning over the original Pixar property to a new(ish) director. Back to Article

My bad, "cult" was obviously the wrong word what i meant to imply was that it was a pioneering full length cgi movie which opened doors for others to follow suit, and deserves a proper send-off that makes it iconic and remembered as one of the best cgi trilogy as opposed to the Shrek trilogy's creative shipwreck.

when Disney announced they were opening the Secret Lab (thier 3D animation studio) Pixar was furious.
As the Secret Lab was ramping up, Disney was laying off a huge chunk of their 2-D animators and selling off
their animation desks.

Take a guess at who was buying the desks and hiring the animators?

Pixar continues to make Disney a boatload of money (less than before because of the new contract) and at the same
time manages to make them look like complete jackasses. One of the best success stories in history.
There's a film waiting to be made about this.

Pixar is amazing. I've seen every film they've made. And i bought Ratatouille based on the Pixar name, because i never got to see it in theaters, and it's an amazing buy. Cars was excellent in it's own right, but it had extremely high expectations. Toy Story 3 sounds a little over-done to me, but it's Pixar! If anyone can do it, it's them! Wall-E and Up both sound like great movies.

agreed. Cars is pixel per pixel better than most non-pixar animated movie.

i've lost faith in pixar. cars wasn't that good and i swear to god i can't for the life of me see what the h3ll is the big deal with Rat, i thought it was utter horsesh3t. it was an animated adult flick that was so predictable it wasn't entertaining at all. wasn't funny, wasn't cute, wasn't well put together either. hopefully they don't screw up the Toy Story Franchise but...judging by their last couple of attempts...i have no reason to think its going to be that good

"To an INFINITY of remakes a rehash of old ideas and little BEYOND! "

What are you talking about. They have one sequel announced, everything else is original ideas. And TS2 is one of the best sequels of all time, I think it's even better than the original. If anyone can do a killer job on a sequel, it's Pixar.

I have to agree with those who put Cars in the blah category, but loved ratatouille. I think it's just a matter of taste, while it's an amazing movie, I can see people not liking it if they went into it with the wrong expectation.

I dont know how they do it (maybe by using just a little frickin' creativity) but Pixar is consistently making amazing movie after movie. It makes you wonder when they will finaly fail (Hopefully never!)

To all of you who say that Cars is the worst Pixar film, you ALL are wrong, it's Nemo... Cars was great, even better than Ratatouille!

LJPlayer69, you must live in Bizarro world if you think cars was great

and to say then nemo is its worst film? then either or you are dumb as a rock or

someone switch the label of your dvds again. hoping it is the latter because if you

actually believe nemo was the worst pixar film then i pity your blind and tastlessness

in judging films. and let me just ask anyone who reads my post... who here believes

a movie with larry the cable guy's humor in cars is better than the legendary A. Brooks

in Finding Nemo? i hope no one else is as foolish as ljplayer69.

I loved the first 2 Toy Stories. I just hope this won't be of straight-to-DVD quality.

and by the way, keep up the best work in hollywood, pixar!! can't wait for

"UP", because a movie about senior citzens action movie means only one wonderful thing

sly stallone will still have work in voice overs... hey pixar gave a part to larry the

cable guy, they shouldn't have a problem with rocky, right? also, i am stoked for

wall-e because i have not had something to satisfy my short circut fix in awhile. sorry

johnny five, you are about to have some company! but you will always be number one..

oh yeah, and of course i can't forget about my favorite dynamic duo,

woody and buzz (of course if chris nolan ever wants to bring in robin, then i might

reconsider. hey, the best news about this third movie is the fact that at least it tim

allen a good movie to do, because frankly he has not done anything watchable besides

toy story movies, and maybe that space quest movie thing. and for hanks at least he

won't have any hair disasters in this movie like his previous movie, da vinci code.

still, it won't be the same without slinky' s real voice... R.I.P. jim varney. keep

strong don rickles, we need mr. potato head's voice plus your one hell of a legend too.

Finally, is it just me but am the only who thinks pixar films lucky mascot, john

ratzenberg, get a staring moive for himself? i think its time, he's more than earned it.

and ehen i think about it how about the "up" movie? i believed him as cliff clavin

(cheers), mac(cars),r.t. flea(bug's life), Hamm(toy story 1&2), school of fish(nemo),

abominable snowman(monsters inc), and a waiter(ratouille). why not an 80 year old

action hero, huh? so, forget, sly, pixar... give it to ratzenberg, please!! and make

george wendt(normie) as his buddy!
