"Transformers: Dark of the Moon" is among Mr. Bay's best movies and by far the best 3-D sequel ever made about gigantic toys from outer space.

At first sounding like praise, the second read through made it seem like a joke at the expensve of Bay's catalogue of poor movies.

I do think this guy speaks for a lot of people who actually find the toy movies to be dumb but ultimately fun. I still watched the other movies, and will watch this one. The effects were amazing before and I'm sure they are again, though I can't for the life of me recall the plots.

Yeah, this definitely sounds like backhanded praise. I thought it was pretty funny.

Definitely backhanded praise. I mean the score is pretty much the lowest positive given. Plus, Michael Bay is so easy to rip on it's hard to resist.

In other words, it's the only 3-D sequel ever made about gigantic toys from outer space... :)
