Star Trek Into Darkness
For the bot-neutral rest of us, two-and-a-half hours of mostly incoherent special effects may be a bit much.
Probably because this isn't made for the bot neutral, it is made for transformers fans.

this film went above and beyond my expectations .. even though the story is commercially typical and the characterizations and their dialogue a bit cheesy, the transformers themselves are near-perfect realizations of how they would look and transform if they were real, minus the hip human slang many of them have adopted from scouring the internet for human information .. the action sequences are some of the most complex choreographies i had ever seen at the time, which are complemented by undoubtedly some of the most amazing sound design ever conceived .. it's a military friendly commercial in a lot of ways, sporting an always staggering amount of u.s. military involvement, usually the outcome on the human's side .. while Bay is undoubtedly one of the most openly sexist and racist producer/directors in the business, i think most people will not even notice or care because it's never seeming to come from a truly derogatory place .. 'transformers' a tremendous achievement in special effects and is a summer blockbuster in the purest sense ..
