Nifty New "Transformers" Featurette
Apparently there's a very swanky "Transformers: The Movie" DVD package coming up soon, one that'll be full of mid-80s animation goodness -- and at least one extra goodie: A teaser/featurette on Michael Bay's live-action "Transformers" flick.
Check out the goods at AICN.
You already know the full scoop on "Transformers." The flick hits theaters next July 4th.
(P.S. If you're a fan, who's your favorite Transformer, and why?)

My money will be with what the transformers look like. Show me some freakin' robots! Then it is fair to say whether or not Bay mucks this all up. Oh, and the final product itself. That will have a lot to do with whether or not the flick is worth any salt. (Reply to this) |

nogard64 writes: on Nov 10 2006 11:07 AM um WTF this is not news the DVD came out 11/7, and it is one fo the coolest DVDs ever full of 80s nostaliga and easter eggs! The movie really was way ahead of its time, it was aiming for a college audience way before the huge Anime craze started! (atleast in the US, in Japan it was always huge) UNTIL ALL ARE ONE! elziard writes: on Nov 10 2006 11:59 AM i agree it was before it's time in the US. TMNT went kids route; GI Joe stayed the corse. we're 5 minutes into TF: the movie and a planet dies. 10 minutes later, almost every one of your favorite characters are dead and the decepticons kick ass. wow. aside from robotech, there was never a more "not your kid's" story geared toward kids. Reel 2/Dialogue 2 writes: on Nov 11 2006 02:30 AM Bah weep grana weep ninee bom, bitch! That featurette looked like the behind-the-scenes of The Rock, with people causing and running from explosions, a yellow Starsky & Hutch car that I'm guessing is Bumblebee, and a certain director of Always looking way too excited to be just an executive producer. It was also pretty insulting, especially considering the DVD package it came in, that Bay kept bragging over the "this ain't yo' daddy's cartoon" aspect, as if I'm supposed to be impressed by such a statement. Thankfully, it was all included with an animated movie that kicks aesch, so all is forgiven. (Reply to this) |

legendx writes: on Nov 11 2006 06:51 AM All about New Toys I loved the 80's movie, don't get me wrong, but the movie was only a way to sell new toys and get rid of a old model(Optmus Prime)that they had been making since the late 70's.(I hate you, HOT ROD) I really want this movie to be good but I'm afraid that Bay will revert to type and give us spectacular looking, plotless film with no heart (i.e. Bay: "this ain't yo' daddy's cartoon") (Reply to this) |
