In the first, the race to higher ground is on when two handymen and a local seismology student discover that their little town of Perfection, Nevada, is infested with stinky subterranean man-eating worms. This very well-done comedy-horror film salutes a host of horror films from bygone years. TREMORS 2: AFTERSHOCKS, has the foul-smelling "Graboids" from the original return to snack on more people in this long-awaited sequel. The original worm hunter is called out of retirement to save Mexican oil fields from the pesky subterranean critters, but they prove to be a bit tougher this time around. TREMORS 3: BACK TO PERFECTION and TREMORS 4: THE LEGEND BEGINS are similar offshoots of the comedy-science-fiction-thriller hybrid. [More]
