on Aug 30 2007 09:16 AM Yep, there are people have it much worse than me, and they don't have the resources or fanbase to help them deal with their problems. Owen Wilson is not my family, therefore he does not deserve my unconditional support and condolences. That's the point, really - compared to all the other strangers in the world, he's got it very, very good. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 30 2007 12:25 PM In reply to this comment (#1085315) And my point is that just because he's got it very, very good compared to others, doesn't mean it's acceptable to just say "**** 'em", even if it does help cool the anti-rich people angst I'm picking up around here. There's no reason why someone can't show a little compassion towards people from all walks of life. (Reply to this) |

on Sep 01 2007 03:00 PM Let's all feel sorry for the stupid attention getter who can't even kill himself right. It's "Down the Road", not "Across the Street", dumbass. Better yet, buy a shotgun next time, save us pain of seeing your hideous face. (Reply to this) |

on Sep 02 2007 09:10 PM Roughly 1 in 100 people are psycopathic. So, don't be too surprised by the lack of empathy exhibited by the more callous and heartless comments present in this thread. Maybe they were written by extremely egocentric, narcissistic sociopaths...or maybe, just maybe...by people who simply lack experience. Perhaps they have yet to go through any kind of significant life altering torment. Maybe...although, there could be a thousand other reasons, for sure. In any case, they are CERTAINLY *******S. But, so am I...just in different ways...u *******s. (Reply to this) |

on Sep 03 2007 11:48 AM In reply to this comment (#1093159) Or maybe there are just people in the world who don't want to validate someone elses bad behavior. Yes wealth and fame don't necessarily equal happiness, but when used properly they should make attaining happiness and avoiding the things that make most people depressed easier. If they are in fact a hinderance then it's no ones fault but the famous persons. I also love the irony here of people preaching love for a celebrity who tries to commit suicide by hating on people who disagree with their opinion. Seriously read thru these comments there's equal venom on both sides of this argument. As for the science of it, for my money the guy could afford the cocaine he should have been able to afford the anti-depressants. Also, while I don't doubt there are doctors who've spent tons of money researching depression as a disease, how many of them were psychologists who make tons of money solely off of supposedly helping people solve their problems? The world was a better place before Mr. Freud when people could rely on themselves or their friends and family to work out their problems for free instead of paying a glorified fortune teller $400 an hour to do a half-assed job with very little regulation. Lastly I really don't wish the guy ill, but I have to suspect that relying on other people i.e. his fans for support and putting too much stock into what other people say is probably what got him into this mess and IF he is reading this board and wants my advice I'd tell him to step back and start using all that wealth and fame to make himself happy cause you can't rely on anyone else to do it for you. If you need the anti-depressants take them, if work sucks bank that last paycheck and never do it again, If your womans got you down bin her and find a better one, If the fans are harassing you move to Northern Canada. He's in that unique position most of us dream about of being able to solve virtually all of his problems himself. Like the Nike comercial says "Just do it" (Reply to this) |
