Ben Stiller, DreamWorks Herald The Return of King Doug
Star adds graphic novel adaptation to his schedule.

Greg Erb and Jason Oremland's graphic novel The Return of King Doug hasn't even reached shelves yet, but it's already being turned into a movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ben Stiller has committed to produce (and possibly star in) a DreamWorks-distributed adaptation of the book, which is being published by Oni Press -- but is still far enough away from completion that it isn't listed at Oni's website. From the article:

Written by Greg Erb and Jason Oremland, "King" centers on a man who must return to the fantasy world which he abandoned 30 years earlier. Erb and Oremland will also write the screenplay.

As the Reporter notes, several screen adaptations of Oni titles are in development, including Courtney Crumrin and the Night Things, The Damned, and, of course, Scott Pilgrim.

Stiller -- whose production company, Red Hour, handled April's The Ruins -- will next be seen in Tropic Thunder and Night at the Museum II: Escape from the Smithsonian.

"Possibly Star"? Yeah, right you know he's the lead in this thing. Assuring that it will be horrible.

Great, another movie where Ben Stiller acts surprised by everything going on around him.

this comment was funnier. I personally like Ben's shtick, though.

Ben Stiller should stop with Night at the Museum right now and should get a supporting role in anchorman 2 as Spanish Team News lead anchor.

Wes Mantooth should have a final showdown with Ron Burgundy and Brick Tamland should win lotto
