Jen, have you read Todd's review of TROPIC over at IGN? You both have the same critique, it's crazy. I agree though, TROPIC is a very cocky picture.
I just thought it was nice to see a successful comedy NOT from the APATOW factory.

When I saw Tropic Thunder, I kept thinking about that (amazing) viral video by Stiller, Downey Jr., and Black where the latter star gets hit in the junk repeatedly while wearing the Kung Fu Panda head. Brilliant.

I think that TT could have the most jokes that I've seen attempted in one movie, which ultimately made me feel like a lot of them missed, but some were still funny (but more missed than hit for me, which isn't so bad when there are so many jokes). I laughed, but not to an LMAO level, just a simple LOL at times. It will be interesting to see how the box office pans out after Tropic Thunder this weekend.

Of course, all this comes before the most anticipated movie of the latter half of August 2008: The House Bunny! Manhole covers will never be the same! Jen Yamato and Anna Faris FTW!

I laughed more at pineapple but i enojyed both.

i think its because pineapple is a stoner movie, and i'm incline to like stoner movies, more then movies with alot of retard jokes. Don't get me wrong tropic had alot of funny parts and i still liked it alot.

i just thought pineapple was wayyyyyy funnier.

Finally someone who actually knows a thing or two about film is talking in these stupid videos. The Creative Director should become a permanent host on these things. He should maybe even be the only guy. The other two sound like they never know what they're talking about. They just blindly follow Tomato Meters.

707, it's funny you should mention Todd's review at IGN. We saw it together and agreed for the most part about it, though he puts it far more eloquently in his review than I did in my comment. One difference is that he went to see it twice, whereas another viewing for me won't really be necessary.
