jokerboy1991 writes: on Aug 15 2008 03:38 PM Tropic Thunder was awesome. I thought Vicky Cristina Barcelona was Woody Allen's best movie since Crimes and Misdemeanors. I bet Death Race will suck. (Reply to this) |

jokerboy1991 writes: on Aug 15 2008 05:06 PM Man I hat Lucas! He keeps ruining great series! He just had to have an INDY 4 (pretty good) and it was the weakest of all the movies. Episode I,II, and III had bad dialogue and crappy acting most from Hayden Christenson and my main man JAR JAR. Episode III I thought was pretty good, but Hayden still kinda sucked at times, in Episode II it had the worst dialogue I have eva heard and bad acting (except Ewan McGregor who was pretty cool as OBI WAN, and Episode I was just corny, come on DARTH MOLE and JAR JAR...so stupid. jokerboy1991 writes: on Aug 15 2008 05:09 PM Yeah Downy and Cruise definately stole the show, still an awesome movie though. Im glad to see Cruise coming back in all fairness he is a really good actor with just a bad rep, and I bet Valkyrie will give him a huge boost. (Reply to this) |

ironmanstarks writes: on Aug 15 2008 05:13 PM I was kind of let down with Tropic Thunder. IMO,Pineapple Express was much, much funnier. Honestly, even Step Brothers had me laughing more than Tropic Thunder. Tom Cruise was awesome, and it was great seeing all these actors, such as Matthew McConaghey and Nick Nolte in such nutty roles. P.S. Is it just me or is Jen Yamato freaking hot? (Reply to this) |

707PG13 writes: on Aug 15 2008 06:12 PM Take note Seth Rogen, I luv you but TROPIC THUNDER is how you make an action comedy. Sorry ironmanstarks, but TROPIC I thought was better than PINEAPPLE. And to all the boycotters: "You mmm...mmmaa...mma..make me ha ha...happy!" (Reply to this) |

ironmanstarks writes: on Aug 15 2008 06:22 PM Fair enough.Obviously, the critics liked Tropic Thunder a lot more, so I cant really say anything back. I do think the fake trailer with Tobey Maguire was hilarious. I think it was just overhyped for me. I think if I saw it again down the line my opinion might change. Also, I kind of want to see the Woody Allen movie. (Reply to this) |

martinscorsese25 writes: on Aug 15 2008 08:17 PM tropic thunder will beat the dark knight in the box office this weekend in my opinion.. i think it will be in the 50-60 mil and tdk will be in the 10 (Reply to this) |

thereign writes: on Aug 15 2008 09:23 PM Jen is ALWAYS a sexy cutie! As for the movies: Tropic Thunder was funny as hell, Clone Wars was lame and Mirrors just flat out sucked. (Reply to this) |

CaptainSiberia writes: on Aug 15 2008 11:24 PM No more remakes of Asian films, ever! The truth about Asian horror is that a lot of it sucks *** as much as American horror. Just because the stories are different doesn't make them better, and remaking a film is stupid anyway unless you have something unique to bring to it. The Tartakovsky series was awful. Don't kid yourself. Horrible scripts, horrible ating (voice and animated,) and then the artful direction comes in to trick people into thinking they're watching something good. And this new Clone Wars movie totally sucks ***. Apparently even kids don't like it. Terrible animation, pointless story, annoying characters, suck on every level. Gabi is lethargic. He only hurts the group dynamic. Tropic Thunder looks awesome. (Reply to this) |

tomwaitsjr writes: on Aug 16 2008 12:14 PM "You went through my purse?" "Who knows what I would find there? After all, I have thoughts of killing you." LOL! Classic Woody Allen. As far as K/J remakes go, I'm pretty sure there'll be an OldBoy remake at some time. Anna Farris is the hottest mostly pure Comedy actresses. I loved her in "Smiley Face." IMO Robert Downey Jr.'s best acting is from Chaplin. I think Death Race will surprise people next week and make a lot of money. There's a lot of pent up desire for R-Rated actioners, as "Wanted" indicated with its box office. (Reply to this) |

Jen Yamato writes: on Aug 16 2008 12:49 PM Thanks for the feedback, tomwaitsjr. Captain, lay off of Gabi! And JKING - so funny. Best summation of clone wars ever. (I also felt a bit lukewarm on Tropic Thunder, and liked Pineapple Express better. Something about Tropic is a bit too calculated for laughs, too self-aware and full of itself...like they know you're going to laugh. Pineapple is much more earnest.) (Reply to this) |

rle4lunch writes: on Aug 16 2008 09:59 PM The bridge scene at the end of Tropic Thunder is awesome. That movie didn't go full retard at all. It was probably Ben Stiller's best comedy in 5-6 years. The fake trailers at the beginning are great too, especially Robert Downey's.. I won't post spoilers though. (Reply to this) |

707PG13 writes: on Aug 16 2008 10:38 PM Jen, have you read Todd's review of TROPIC over at IGN? You both have the same critique, it's crazy. I agree though, TROPIC is a very cocky picture. I just thought it was nice to see a successful comedy NOT from the APATOW factory. (Reply to this) |

davechung writes: on Aug 17 2008 12:39 AM Go see Tropic Thunder...with a PANDA! (Viral!!) When I saw Tropic Thunder, I kept thinking about that (amazing) viral video by Stiller, Downey Jr., and Black where the latter star gets hit in the junk repeatedly while wearing the Kung Fu Panda head. Brilliant. I think that TT could have the most jokes that I've seen attempted in one movie, which ultimately made me feel like a lot of them missed, but some were still funny (but more missed than hit for me, which isn't so bad when there are so many jokes). I laughed, but not to an LMAO level, just a simple LOL at times. It will be interesting to see how the box office pans out after Tropic Thunder this weekend. Of course, all this comes before the most anticipated movie of the latter half of August 2008: The House Bunny! Manhole covers will never be the same! Jen Yamato and Anna Faris FTW! (Reply to this) |

Dabrizzle writes: on Aug 17 2008 08:59 AM I laughed more at pineapple but i enojyed both. i think its because pineapple is a stoner movie, and i'm incline to like stoner movies, more then movies with alot of retard jokes. Don't get me wrong tropic had alot of funny parts and i still liked it alot. i just thought pineapple was wayyyyyy funnier. (Reply to this) |

McKrakin writes: on Aug 17 2008 11:10 PM Finally someone who actually knows a thing or two about film is talking in these stupid videos. The Creative Director should become a permanent host on these things. He should maybe even be the only guy. The other two sound like they never know what they're talking about. They just blindly follow Tomato Meters. (Reply to this) |

HyperionChild writes: on Aug 18 2008 06:40 AM Er....isn't the purpose of the RT Review Revue to let people know what the Tomato Meters are saying? (Reply to this) |

Jen Yamato writes: on Aug 18 2008 09:34 AM 707, it's funny you should mention Todd's review at IGN. We saw it together and agreed for the most part about it, though he puts it far more eloquently in his review than I did in my comment. One difference is that he went to see it twice, whereas another viewing for me won't really be necessary. (Reply to this) |
