Audience Reviews for Trucks

This remake of Stephen King short story, Maximum Overdrive, is less scary than Emilio Estevez's film. Poor acting and a silly plot are only partly redeemed by a chilling ending.

Why bother re-making 'Maximum Overdrive'? This is just another of the universe's imponderables, but stick with this movie, your patience will be rewarded with what must be the funniest movie death ever: a gormless mailman is battered to death by a Tonka toy, and the gore sprays like raspberry jam from a doughnut. In the cast is the marvellous Brendan Fletcher, one of the finest actors of his generation, and again the question recurs:WHY WHY WHY?

How do you improve on Stephen King? Well you can't and to try to do so would be folly, as demonstrated by the re-make of Maximum Overdrive, Trucks. In this version several trucks mysteriously come to life and start attacking a group of people at a local Nevada tourist center. The tone of the film is way too series and the acting is incredible poor. A lifeless, dull scrap heap, Trucks is an atrocious adaptation of Stephen King's work.
