I do agree with some of the special effects, but I think it is unfair how you all say that only girls read these books. They are well written, and I see many guys at my school who have read or are reading these books. It is wierd how you think she is smitten with him at first sight, seeing as how she didn't plan on talking to him and then how he acted rude to her when she sat with him.
You are in all honesty the only person I have ever heard (or in this case, read) that thinks the books were well written. I've never stooped to that level of boredom, thankfully, but every person I've spoken with who has read it says they imagine a 14 year old girl with no current or future prospects for a social life wrote it. Even the ones who enjoyed it have said that....
YES YES YES you let me tell you that you have NO taste in movies you are a horrible critic like hello ? uhm stephanie meyer is amazing and hardwick worked super hard on this to make it an amazing movie! and people like you just come and ruin the fun for everything if you didnt like well..... then you shouldnt talk KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT WHEN YOURE GONNA CRITISIZE A MOVIE CUZ YOUR ALSO INSULTING ITS FANS!!!!
Are you kidding me llicia j? You know it's his job to write this right? He wrote what he felt because it's a terribly underdeveloped movie with a no-name director. And Stephanie Meyer is everything short of amazing. She's a children's book writer. AND CAPS LOCK DOES NOT MAKE YOUR ARGUMENT STRONGER!!!!
honey?
do you happen to be a teenage girl? or perhaps a twi-mom? both equally sad,i'm sorry, but it's true. stephenie meyer isn't that amazing, and honestly? i really don't think she had a dream. somehow. and insulting its fans? really? the fans are so thick-skinned about it, they couldnt BE insulted.
and if your going to put "like hello?" in your review, it makes you sound really smart.
"Like, we should totally give the movie, like, a 100%, because, uh, you know, the crew worked REALLY hard on it. Annnnnd, I don't think the millions of dollars they are rolling in are like, a fair enough reward, you know?"
Well, we think if you weren't reading or watching this garbage, you would know how to spell properly. This movie and books, and it's "cult following" is a disgrace to films and literature and vampire lore that was established prior to the late great Bram Stoker! Obviously you care too much about what other people think about your precious woman abusing book/movie series to see it's true danger on teenage girls in today's society.

I honestly agree with you. I read the book a long time ago when it first came out and I didn't think it was that great but fun to read as a one time thing. I started watching the movie and I shut it off after about 20 minutes. The acting was awful and cheesy. The one good thing was the scenery in this film, other than that it was definetly bad.
I was told I was going to see a "totally awesome vampire story", as I had been told. What I got was an angsty teenage girl who falls in love with some pale, sparkling pretty-boy was also a vampire (using the broadest possible definition of the word "vampire"). The only interesting part of the movie is the "fight scene" at the end.
My thoughts exactly Greg. After hearing countless chicks say "OMG TWILIGHT!!! SUCH A GREAT MOVIE" I watched it.... After the credits rolled I had that exact same reaction "So, what was so great about that?" I mean honestly, the main vampire dude (edward or whatever) was a total creaper who watched the protaganist sleep. FAIL.
hey look look
i'm a teenage girl
i read the book
honestly? i liked it at first ... but it was light. nothing really too complex in there. then the movie ... it was crap. i must say that they did well on their ridiculously small budget, but catherine harwicke is bat-**** crazy.
I never listened to the hype about this film. So when i watched it i was very very impressed. Great spin on the vampire genre totaly origanal. LOVED IT.
This movie isnt really that bad. But it is a let down when you look at the hype, as if this is suposed to be the greatest romance of 2008 and it wasnt anywhere near that level. The movie "let the right one in" (which in many respects is similar to twilight) is much much better then this over-rated film
