The last twenty minutes of Breaking Dawn are so harrowing that it's possible to forget that most of the acting is soap-operatic (the guy who plays Carlisle is aging to look like Liberace) and the dialogue from hunger.
You give the movie a "fresh" positive review because the last 20 minutes are good? You're not reviewing the last 20 minutes, you're reviewing the whole entire movie! Why not a "rotten" review if only the end was good?
Why ask if his/her liver is OK? Plus, Kris is completely right. The critic should base his opinion on the entire movie, not just the final twenty minutes (This could be reversed if the final twenty minutes were total perfection. The last 20 minutes, although the best part of the movie, were far from perfect.) And don't make any snide comments about Harry Potter. It murders Twilight in action, humor, ACTUAL romance, and EXCITING dialogue. Not to mention movies XD.
i just watched the movie tonight. I was overwhelmed and some of it was a bit much for me when Bella got sicker. I am a Jacob fan all the way. He is such a trooper for Bella and she knows that she can depend on him. The move was intended to be a slow starter because it had to happen and they went through the motions as expected. I wanted to slap Bella because she seemed nervous all of a sudden. I guess i was nervouse despite the fact that i wanted to be married more than anything (now I'm divorce). Anyway, a fellow patron was seeing it for the 3rd time and brought her teen with her. I am hooked and can't wait for part two...Bella awakens...which kind of brings an old twist to vampire movies...dying and then awakening! Nice touch.
Overall, the movie went by the book for the most part and Twilight fans should be reasonably pleased with how the movie turned out. However, the last twenty minutes were utterly shocking, yet hilarious in the sense that the focus of Bella's rebirth was overly exaggerated. Never begin an argument between Harry Potter and Twilight for there shall only be one winner and of course it is quite obvious to where I should not need to explain any further. As a person who has seen all of the movies so far I would have to say that the movies have developed into a decent viewing experience that will make you laugh and keep you on the edge of your seat with graphics.
Just like I revoke movie critics of their legitimacy if they give The Lord of the Rings series bad reviews, the same applies to people like David Edelstein that give this heavily mainstreamed, horribly acted trash a good review.
So your telling me Twilight Breaking Dawn: Part 1 is a better movie than The Dark Knight, Inception and Mystic River? And yet they hired you as a critic.

At least Harry Potter preached intelligence. Twilight's just plain dumb. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
And what the hell does a liver have to do with anything?
