Critic Review - New Yorker

This penultimate "Twilight" film is the best in the series so far. It's languorous, romantic, moody, and, in the end, horrifying.

Sir, are you perhaps a prepubescent girl, or a troubled mom?

Do we have to be being "hip" if we are stating our true opinion? think about it.

Its so funny how haters stay on here to bash any and all who remotely like something out of the ordinary, i come here purely casually, this is actually my first and probably only comment on any video/movie post.
What is true: With every movie someone will not like it for reasons of their own deciding (or sometimes peer pressure)
With every movie someone will like it for reasons of their own deciding
(or sometimes peer pressure)
Regardless, anyone has a write to dislike or like said movie. DO NOT BASH thou if they express a truthful taste of good or bad just because YOU do not like their decision.
If you want to live opposite of this why don't you go somewhere where right of truthful opinion is censored, you can be on their censored police for all i care and you seem to have a fun of doing so.
Movie comments, religion, sexual orientation, its all preference and anyone has a right to say what they prefer, WITHOUT being ridiculed and harassed.
Realize you are part of the problem for starting hate in society.
(FYI I'm not here defending the movie, I'm defending this person)

Your statement here makes sense only if you aren't including so called "professional critics" who don't often express any real personal opinion made obvious when they can't decently justify the reason they like or dislike something. They get paid to review movies, and like many things in this world their integrity is for sale.

even worst. Since Bill Condon is a critical acclaimed director some critics just don't have the guts to give bad reviews. It's the same with oscar nominated actors and actresses. Some critics just don't give bad reviews to the worst performances of actors with mediocre performances once they have achieved an Oscar nod. Salma Hayek, Jennifer Lawrence and Halle Berry have given terrible performances but since they are oscar nominated actresses and winners critics seem to be mild in their criticism.

Seriously though, if we judge these movies by even the most basic film and story principals, they aren't good at all. Seems to me the only people who like these movies are fans who are unwilling to accept their franchise has terrible movies and idiots.

Do you realize how disgusting the combination of languorous, romantic, and moody is, esp. when coming from an American male? You write for the New Yorker - did you have to castrate yourself to get the job? This is a truly sick film - not in a nice healthy gore kind of way but in a teenage suicide kind of way. That is not surprising - there are other such sick films too - what is surprising is that how much appeal that sickness holds for you. You sick sick person.

I'm sorry but coming from a top critic I am shocked this has got a good review. Everyone is allowed an opinion of course but I had to watch this movie at the weekend. I went in with an open mind like I did with the others but this was by far the worst in the series. The acting was bad, the story was bad, the special effects were only ok. I mean this had nothing the previous films got by on. There were more holes in this story that a lump of Swiss cheese!! It makes me wonder why I'm not reviewing films and getting paid for it.

it was flawed in alot of ways (If you have not read the books, the movie isn't good for you to watch because you have no idea what is going on due to the fact they kept a ton of very important scenes out of the script), BUT you don't have to be a man or woman for this! calling him a girl is cruel and immature. you act like you're in highschool! he's a critic doing his job and you're being an ass about him liking a movie! come on!

over all I like your review and it is the best in the series so far (because the last book is the best) and it's generally more for adults instead of moody teens. great review thanks!

Whilst I firmly disagree with the review, how dare you people call a respected professional like Diones such names! Why can't you respect his opinion? At the end of the day, the film has an awful rating and that says quite enough. No need to attack one guy who did actually like it.

How dare I, you say? Do you fail to see the irony of you defending one mans review (of a movie) against another's (the review itsself) review?

"No. I'd blindly hate it."

What?

First of all, how can you call this the best of the series? The first were bad yeah, but they were also really, really hilarious. This however is a big pile of boring, padded, sexist, unethically sound... Something, so bland, that they resort to two parters, because, well.... Harry Potter did it! I know there are fans out there that actually liked the previous three movies, but it is really something, when the last twilight movies of this, highly, highly overrated franchise, are the one's that even the fans didn't like. As many has written before me, this series is shamelessly whoring out, to pubescent girls the typical non-existant holywood audience, or the household mum, that bassically died around the fifties. But that is only the tip of the iceberg, oh yes, this franchise is actually going the take the difficult decision of teaching us the right and ethical answer to.... abortion. yes. That's right. Twilight actually thinks that they have the right answer to this moral dillemma, and apparently c-sections too, (SPOILERS!) considering that mr. "sparkly" just digs his teeth in her stomach in the end, and rips the baby out of her. Yeah. Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.

Bruce is probably a little 14 year old girl ... yes in the end it is horrifying how bad this movie is ... this movie should be banned for all the reports of people getting epileptic seizures from the birth scene .... twilight is truly trying to kill its audience

@t nelson

you tell them nelson, I'll give my opinion though. The only people who would enjoy these twilight movies are the ones who are in a relationship status or are married, the ones who have yet to find the girl they love, to stay with her, and have sex with her to have a kid with her and marry her, those people would hate the movie with a passion....
