5 Facts About The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Exclusive: We tap the cast for hints on what to expect - could there be 5 films?

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Fact #2: There Will Be Less "Love Story" and More "War"

"Eclipse isn't as intimate as Twilight or New Moon," Robert Pattinson explains to us. "We're at war, so I get to interact with more characters, not just Kristen. You'll also find out more about the other members of the Cullen family. It just feels bigger." But -- fear not, Twihards -- that isn't to say the love story is cast aside altogether. "New Moon set up a love triangle with Bella, Edward and Jacob," says Lautner. "So we explore that further in Eclipse. It's a tough situation for all of them because Bella is torn between two guys, Jacob can't get the girl that he loves and then there's Edward, with all of his issues."

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Fact #3: The Werewolves Will Crank Up the Sex Appeal

"We all know the appeal of the vampire family," says Nikki Reed, who plays vampire Rosalie. "But the werewolf boys are on a whole different level. They interact with a youthful, playful, comfortable warmth. It's very sexy."

As for Pattinson, he admits that his personal jealousy about Taylor Lautner's newly-ripped physique actually comes in handy for the role. "In Eclipse, Taylor and I have lots of scenes together where we have to be jealous and petty with each other," he says. "So it helps that I actually do feel inadequate when I see his body, especially because he's younger than me. He fulfills every criteria of what teenage girls want, physically, in a guy. I felt like a had to prove myself against him."

If 85% of the world hated The Twilight Saga, New Moon wouldn't have the third biggest opening in box office history.

FYI : NEW MOON EARNED $140M in one country only!!!and just for 3 day screening. Not counting USA, London and other countries which only proves that people like myself love the saga. If you "jerks" don't have anything nice to say about the movie and it's actors/characters...Then, SHUT THE F UP!

Hello..as everybody else I am hooked up with Twilight. And regarding this comment; Robert just spoke out loud something ALL GUYS do! Just because they're men that don't accept or even speak out loud regarding their stupid jelousy towards men that look better then them physcally. And dude his remark regarding this just speaks how much of a men he is by accepting that he's got a challenge towards the character Jacob...so I bet you're a teenager that hangs around your mother's house still slobbing around so before you make such a stupid comment ever again GROW UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The last time I checked, nobody is ever forced inside a cinema in order to watch a film they would rather not see. Perhaps you ought to stick to the ones you do enjoy, and allow the rest of us some of our own freedom of choice :-p

Man, especially Fact #3 sounds like something worht watching when one's on a gay-party. :D Sexy boys, warmth, playful... *puke* "New Moon" was a pile of dung omho. Worse than "Twilight" - acting was awful. The side-role actors were better than the main-role ones, which is really bad for all films. I hope in the third film they'll indeed make it more vampire-werewolf-thing than a bunch of "hairy" hot boys, a girl with a constant constipation especially when emotions should be expressed and a douchebag-vampire. :D

JettaJameson

JettaJameson on 11-26-2009 12:23 PM

And like a moth to a flame, all the pathetic comic geeks come out of the woodwork like cockroaches, to bash these films because, heaven forbid, something not appeal to them or challenge their firmly held belief that girls have cooties.

frozen01

frozen01 on 12-23-2009 10:16 AM

Sweetie, I am a "girl", I know we don't have cooties. I have read all the books. It was a stupid, turn-off-your-brain beach read (except for Breaking Dawn, which was the most god-awful thing I have ever read... seriously, anytime I explain the "plot" to anyone who has not read the books, their jaw hits the floor and every single one of them says "I knew it was bad, but I never realized it was THAT bad!" If I had a daughter, I would not let her read that book, it was so disturbingly horrible.)
I saw Twilight on DVD. It was worse than the books. At least when you read the books, you can imagine believable acting (if your imagination is good enough to get past the cheesy plot and saccharine dialog, that is). The movie does not give you that luxury.
And yes, 85% of the world does hate the Twilight Saga. Just because you saw it opening weekend doesn't mean you walked out with a smile on your face. Besides, 15% of the world is still a lot of people.

JRM

JRM on 11-26-2009 12:37 PM

I'm avoiding them all -- except for Breaking Dawn. The book was so atrociously bad, that it came off laughable. I'm sure it will be a great comedy. I also find it ridiculous that they're planning to split Breaking Dawn into 2 movies, since nothing really happens in the book. LOL.

So if the movies are inane. We had our beach-party movies that couldn't be more idiotic than the Twilight Saga. Each generation have their "loved bombs".They will eventually fade and something new will come.It is a matter of time.Although I'm old I'm on Team Jacob. He seems more real.Huh...

Ok I don't mind all the stuff. Seriously, some people like escapism to unimaginable extremes, so I like the idea of more action (after all of Bella's whining, it will be more than welcome) but must they be SO DAMN pale?? it goes to the point they look unhealthy and just plain weird. Even really pale people don't look that unnatural. But what do I know, it's like screaming to a deaf person.

natalie b. on 11-26-2009 02:33 PM

I don't think any of you know what you are talking about if you read the books then you would know that the way Bella and Edward were acting in New Moon is the way the is was in the book. I thought that the movie was great and i am not one of those "OMG EDWARD" girls, I think that is sad but I do LOVE Twilight and New Moon. I also think yall are so stupid for righting about how good or bad the movies are or will be. Really how old are you???

BLaCKWoLF

" I also think yall are so stupid for righting about how good or bad the movies are or will be. Really how old are you???"

Its best not to call others stupid or ask how old they are, when you cant spell the word 'writing'. Just saying, not trying to put you down or anything.

frozen01

frozen01 on 12-23-2009 10:33 AM

Natalie, old enough to know how to spell "writing" and a few things about sentence structure.
I read the books, as I mentioned. So what if the movie matches the books? Does that make the movie any better? No. If you're an insane, over-obsessed, whiny, emo teenager in one, you don't become less-so in the other just because it's true to form.

By the way, as a woman approaching her 30s, please allow me to offer some advise to my younger sisters: If you meet a guy (or girl) and your relationship with him (or her) is ANYTHING like the one between Bella and Edward, RUN AWAY. FAST. That is not "true love". It is obsession, and the reason restraining orders were created. True love is when you adore and respect someone despite their imperfections, and they adore and respect you in turn despite your own. True love is never caring when your once-ravishing man goes bald, or your once-stunning woman gets a few wrinkles... and they return the favor. True love is not finding someone who has no imperfections (or so you think) and then allowing him (or her) to run your life for you. True love is not giving up everything you were and everyone you love to be "one" with your new squeeze. I personally know women who thought these types of relationships were "true love", and hunnies, it never ended well.

I have to agree to the last part of this post. I will admit that I do personally enjoy the Twilight series, as a mom of 2 young children its a nice way to escape reality for a little bit at the end of each day.

With that said, I do feel bad for the young women reading this series. Bella is the epitimy of the "vulnerable, pathetic, clingy, weak" female, that we as strong women have been trying to push to the back burner for years. We have fought so hard to get it into the heads of girls that they dont need to be defined by a man or a relationship.Unfortunatly for Bella that is exactly what the author has portrayed her as. Her whole life revolves around this one person and she pushes everything else out of her life at what cost, her life. Isnt that a first sign of a controlling, abusive relationship.

I wish I had good things to say about the movies, however they have changed too many things from the book for me to truly rank this as my favorite movie of all time. However I am looking to seeing Eclipse, like I said, a little escape from reality.

This is a pretty good way to deprive alot of money from a lot of little girls wallets, by rehiring the same cast that starred in "New Moon" to star in another film together, regardless how bad you make it.

Costigan

Costigan on 11-26-2009 05:09 PM

What I dont unerstand is when people call other people "jerks" and tell them to "STFU" but also use the "if you dont have anything nice to say" phrase, its not too consistant.

We anti-twilighters are not attempting to take away anything from your AMAIZING opening numbers, I am serious, those are impressive.(Set the record for the most 14 year old girls at the movies) What we have is a problem with the content. This great number of people who are willing to see such a piece of pseudo-emo garbage, does not prove it is a good movie. It proves that people are lemmings just waiting to jump on the next pop culture bandwagon.

"righting" lol
