What a shocker. The MTV movie awards have become the biggest joke.
Jun 7 - 04:33 AM
Were they ever not a joke? It was very telling that the Best Male Performance winner was the vampire guy for that 2nd Twilight movie when the host had joked at the beginning of the show that he was hardly even in the movie.Though you have to admit it was pretty cool that Ken Jeong won that WTF moment award and got all serious and emotional for a moment. Far more impacting than that Sandra Bullock tripe.

I'd take that one step further - when was the last time anyone mistook MTV for a legitamate music channel? I geuss if your a 16 year old girl, which seems to be their core demographic, MTV is bitchin' rad.
Jun 7 - 01:15 PM
"You're", not "your". C'mon Jay.
Jun 7 - 01:47 PM
wow, your so f**king annoying. i hate grammar nazis!
Jun 9 - 03:40 PM
I think it's safe to say the MTV Movie Awards are the new Razzies.
Jun 7 - 07:20 PM
Not exactly sure what anyone expected...it's MTV, people, not the bloody Oscars.Hooray for Tom Felton winning best villain, though :D
Jun 7 - 05:23 AM
2009 - Twilight beats out Iron Man and TDK for Best Movie. 2010 - New Moon beats out Avatar for Best Movie. Wanna guess which film wins next year? And the year after that? This is why i stopped watching this crap 4 years ago.
Jun 7 - 05:33 AM
After reading that winners list, it's a good laugh to start the day.
MTC Movie Awards is more about the show than the actual awards. Unfortunately this year all the parts of the show that didn't have Tom Cruise as Les Grossman were useless too. Aziz Ansari was painfully unfunny, they should have gotten Russell Brand again.
Jun 7 - 05:42 AM
Russell Brand never hosted the movie awards. He hosted the Video Music Awards for the last two years.
Jun 7 - 03:18 PM
MTV music and movie awards were good at one point in my life, I can't think when it all went down hill but I just remember watching MTV and saying what the hell happen. Who remembers Liquid Television!!!
Jun 7 - 06:50 AM
CORRECTION: They have officially changed the name to MTV Ovary Awards.
Jun 7 - 07:20 AM
While those Twilight movies look very painful to watch, I liked that the Robert P vampire guy was down with making fun of himself with the Grossman character.
Jun 7 - 08:54 AM
dethburger hates Flixster
Liquid Television was great. So was MTV 25-30 years ago.
Jun 7 - 03:05 PM
What a joke MTV. Oh wait, you are a bad joke. I stop watching after they stop giving Beavis and Butt-Head and Celebrity Death-match.
Jun 7 - 06:53 AM
New Moon being so well liked is when it became very obvious that fans of twilight are not fans at all. They couldn't care less if the movie was handled with care or thoughtfully made. It is incredibly sad, really. It kind of points ahead to the future of art in general. People don't care for it any longer. Just give them a reason to go dumb and numb for two hours, and they're content, I guess.
Jun 7 - 07:43 AM
millions of raving fangirls voting = crappy award show.
Jun 7 - 08:08 AM
I'm a big Twilight fan ,but damn even I know they don't deserve all those awards. The MTV movie awards pretty much went down hill. Twilight won everything and on top of that there was so much cursing they didn't even bother to bleep it out. One big headache.
Jun 7 - 08:27 AM
I didn't watch these wards, but I already know that Sandra Bullock's speech was by FAR the best part. ;)
Jun 7 - 08:31 AM
Gonna have to disagree, and risk a double post in essence to assert that the Ken Jeong acceptence speech was the best part. His interpetive dance to the Tiger song was pretty good as well.
Jun 7 - 08:55 AM
people - this awards show is a joke, and MTV and a good percentage of the viewers are well aware of that. every speech, every skit, is a comedy routine. i love watching this because of the sketches and surprises. what other 'ceremony' are you going to see Tom Cruise dress as Les Grossman and dance a fool with J-LO?, what other 'ceremony' will you see Russell Brand and Jonah Hill make out on camera? every freaking person in the crowd last night was dressed causually; blue jeans and t-shirts, not tuxes and dresses. people stopped watching the MTV movie awards long ago for the 'winners'. people just want to see the hosts and other celebs cut jokes on popular movies. duh.

Mr. Bo Ziffer
In reality, what did you guys expect from this? A good movie like "The Hangover" or "Avatar" to win? MTV has gone downhill drastically since the new millenium, and the only people willing to sit down and watch it are the mindless drones who can plop down in front of a Twilight movie. Not because they were dragged there, but to be entertained. We all know MTV doesn't play music anymore, unless you're willing to stay up between the times of 3am and 5am to watch Justin Bieber or Heidi Montag sing about how cool they are. I havn't paid any attention to their awards show since 9/11. The MTV I loved growing up played great music 20 hours a day, made room for Aeon Flux, Beavis and Butthead, and Celebrity Deathmatch, and didn't once think about selling out.I hate Twilight, I hate MTV, and I hate this culture it has created of brain-dead American douche bags!
Jun 7 - 08:46 AM
Read you post again imagining it was your Dad saying it 20 years ago with appropriate cultural references...Chilling eh? LOL, Don't sweat it dude, I had the same experience.
Jun 7 - 09:15 AM
LOL True, every generation is going to talk about how bad everything is about the next generation, like how everything was better in the "good ol' days". But even my dad thinks this was a HUGE decline in quality, not to mention standards, of MTV circa 1985 to now. MTV is almost to the point of counterculture or self-parody at this point. And can we please find a way to ban the spammers? They're not hard to sort out, seeing as how they don't have any vowels in their names, and insist we buy "two double" of everything!
Jun 7 - 11:56 AM
i agreei liked that they let him curse
Jun 7 - 09:17 AM
****in' Twilight? What a joke, man...I hope they understand that New Moon is'nt a Critically acclaimed movie...At all.
I think that's sort of the point.
Jun 7 - 09:29 AM
Exactly, the MTV Movie awards are an excuse for mostly the people the Oscars forgot to put on a show. Sometimes it works (Early Jim Carrey, Les Grossman), sometimes it doesn't (Aziz Ansari and the cast of Grown-Ups), but the point of the show IS the show and on that level I think it's worthwhile.
Jun 7 - 09:34 AM
$296,619,304 gross. That means no matter the TomatoMeter, as long as it's all about the Benjamins, they'll get honorable mentions. I'll bet when "Eclipse" reaches 09% - maybe not, but it's bound to happen - you know the **** will get nominated for next year's MTV Movie Awards. And sweep all the other films under the cover.
