He keeps... This volume of two classic episodes focuses on the theme of nightmares. In "Perchance to Dream," Richard Conte plays a highly imaginative guy with a bad heart who's afraid to fall asleep. He keeps dreaming of a weird carnival where an exotic female named Mava the Cat Woman (Suzanne Lloyd) is trying to seduce and kill him. He's afraid he'll really die if he sees her one more time, but sleep is hard to escape. The scene where Mava leads him into the carnival's haunted house is a far-out highlight in this episode directed by Robert Florey (MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE). The second episode on the tape is one of the masterpieces of the series, called "Shadow Play." Dennis Weaver stars as a man caught in a continuously repeating dream wherein he is convicted of murder and sentenced to die in the electric chair. The desperate man tries to warn the D.A. (Hary Townes) that his death will only cause everything to cease to exist, and amazingly, the D.A. begins to believe him.
