Synopsis: Millionaire George Wade (HUGH GRANT) doesn’t make a move without Lucy Kelson (SANDRA BULLOCK), his multi-tasking Chief Counsel at the Wade Corporation. A brilliant attorney with a strategic mind,... Millionaire George Wade (HUGH GRANT) doesn’t make a move without Lucy Kelson (SANDRA BULLOCK), his multi-tasking Chief Counsel at the Wade Corporation. A brilliant attorney with a strategic mind, she also has an ulcer and doesn’t get much sleep. It’s not the job that’s getting to her. It’s George. Smart, charming and undeniably self-absorbed, he treats her more like a nanny than a Harvard-trained lawyer – and can barely choose a tie without her help. Now, after five years of calling the shots, on everything from his clothes to his divorce settlements, Lucy Kelson is giving her two weeks notice. Although George makes it difficult for Lucy to leave the Wade Corporation, he finally agrees to let her go – but only if she finds her own replacement. After a challenging search, she hires an ambitious young lawyer (ALICIA WITT) with an obvious eye on her wealthy new boss. Finally free of George and his 24-hour requests, Lucy is ready to change course and join her devoted boyfriend (MARK FEUERSTEIN) on an adventure at sea. Or is she? Confronted with the fact that Lucy is literally sailing out of his life, George faces a decision of his own: is it ever too late to say “I love you”? -- © 2002 Warner Bros. [More]

In the romantic comedy department, Two Weeks is smarter than it needs to be.

Apparently, romantic comedy with a fresh point of view just doesn't figure in the present Hollywood program.

[Grant and Bullock] are so good together that you can easily imagine them doing this again, a la Tracy and Hepburn, in another flimsy concoction.

Here's a romantic comedy in which the stars actually have some believable chemistry.

Walking into Two Weeks Notice at the end of a hectic day, week, month and year, I wanted it to be a typical romantic comedy starring those two lovable people, Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant. And it was.

Will click with audiences seeking substanceless diversion, or a change of pace from year-end heavyweight titles. Those who prefer to be challenged will stay away, wisely.

Some actors have so much charisma that you'd be happy to listen to them reading the phone book. Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock are two such likeable actors.

the perfect date movie, a light, breezy romantic comedy with more believable characters and genuine charm than its chief competition, Maid in Manhattan.

This is a charming fantasy, that would still be entertaining after you've seen it a few times - once on the big screen and then later at home with some good Chinese take out.

The script seemed clever, or maybe it was just the way that Hugh Grant delivered his lines.

I like Bullock. I like Grant. Script is serviceable. There have been far worse romantic comedies this year.

Succeeds only because Bullock and Grant were made to share the silver screen.

The hard-to-predict and absolutely essential chemistry between the down-to-earth Bullock and the nonchalant Grant proves to be sensational, and everything meshes in this elegant entertainment.

The movie is hardly a masterpiece, but it does mark Ms. Bullock's best work in some time.
