There can be few actors better suited to starring in a film about the golden age of British rock and roll than Bill Nighy. No wonder, then, that he's front and centre as part of the ensemble cast of Richard Curtis' latest comedy, The Boat that Rocked. If you read the reports about Tom Cruise's Valkyrie being pushed back and assumed the movie must be a dud, Cruise's co-star Bill Nighy says you're all wrong -- the delays were necessary to allow for the filming of some big-budget action sequences.

Having already been moved from a Summer 2008 release to October, the Bryan Singer-directed Valkyrie has once again been moved to a February 2009 release, and presumably out of Oscar contention.

Branagh Says Valkyrie Compels Despite Historical Fate
Bryan Singer's upcoming historical thriller Valkyrie is about the attempted assassination of Adolf Hitler. Since we know it did not succeed, it might seem like a redundant story, but costar Kenneth Branagh assured that the details make it exciting.

First Valkyrie Pic Revealed
The release date's still a ways off, but the first image of Tom Cruise in Valkyrie has already made its way onto the interwebs. Shooting began today in Germany, and this photo depicts Cruise with (presumably) the briefcase bomb intended for Hitler.

"Man of Steel" Ready to Start Next Summer?
Bryan Singer is working on the WWII movie "Valkyrie" before he goes into production on "Superman: The Man of Steel." However, he's got writers Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty working on the script and other producers getting things ready, so he'll be ready to go as soon as "Valkyrie" is done.
