Larson is ready to marry Jim Sawyer despite warnings from her friends that he doesn't truly love her. Jonathon Ware (James Craig) has it in for Sawyer on account of Sawyer dumping him from the stage coach that carried Sawyer into town. Ware beats Sawyer in a fist fight, but Sawyer sends his men to find Ware and beat him senseless, thereby landing him in the arms of Larson for medical treatment. Ware falls for Larson, and will go any distance to prevent Sawyer and Larson from hitching up. Beyond the romantic machinations, the fast-paced story throws some heart and light on the tragic relationship between Native American Indians and Whites. Ware knows about the plight and injustices that have befallen the Indian nations, and is willing to risk his life for social justice. Meanwhile, the villainous Sawyer aims to cheat the Indians out of their cattle. Between the love triangle, the fist fights, and a pair of war scenes with the Indians, VALLEY OF THE SUN is a much-loved film among fans of the Hollywood Western. [More]
