Im looking foward to The Godfather box set on Blu Ray, looking foward to Inglorius Bastards, I really want an X Files box set on Blu Ray, ehhh Vantage Point sucked, I will probably rent My Bluberry Nights, and I wanna get Mad Men season 1 tomorrow. Also cool there releasing Day Watch and Night Watch on Blu Ray, I guess my waiting paid off on that.

An interview with Wong Kar Wai on the My Blueberry Nights DVD? Well, I'm sold. The man's probably one of my favorite working directors; middling reviews aside, I'm sure My Blueberry Nights looks absolutely gorgeous. Wong doesn't even know how to make a scene look boring or drab.

Hmm, except for My Blueberry Nights, it looks like a slow week.

i can't see one reason why that Bravia thing brings people any advantages.

Yeah dougkip, it seems a bit silly and expensive to buy the Godfather set again if you already have it. Sometimes new/extra materials are worth it; in this case, I'm not so sure.

I saw My Blueberry Nights twice, just to confirm what I thought of it. I don't want to discourage anyone from seeing it if they are interested or already love Wong Kar-Wai's work, but...it's not exactly the big American breakthrough that I was hoping for. That said, he features two of my favorite musicians' work as crucial leitmotifs throughout the film: Otis Redding and Cat Power (who also "acts" in one scene). I'd watch the DVD again to hear Wong Kar-Wai's insights alone.

And I'm SO getting Inglorious Bastards! That was the biggest piece of DVD news to me this week.

I saw My Blueberry Nights and didn't really like it at all. The movie, while generally well acted, was predictable. I could have told you the ending from the first scene and that never makes for interesting movie watching. Norah Jones makes a good effort here but it helps being surrounded by some of Hollywood's finest. The mood and music were excellent the story was kind of weak.

Somebody mentioned Mad Men and I loved it! I just finished season one on DVD and would highly recommend it. Just to put out a warning it is high drama and since it's set in 1960 it definitely isn't for everybody but I find the characters intriguing and it gives me a glimpse in to a era I knew little about. Big props for Mad Men! And the Mad Women on the show, too!
