Movie Info

Director Peter Weigl liberates the great Delius opera from the boundaries of the stage in this on-location staging of the classic work. In a 19th century Swiss village, the star-crossed lovers Vreli and Sally become mysteriously linked to the strange Dark Fiddler (Thomas Hampson). The film includes the celebrated orchestral interlude "The Walk to the Paradise Garden," which Delius composed five years after the rest of the score.
