Marvelously candid documentary depicting the creation of a massive, seemingly foolhardy pipe dream of a production. One of a handful of truly fine movies about opera.
Deborah Voigt was the best reason to see this production of the Ring. Her acting, singing and stage charisma were wonderful. So it's good that this documentary focused on her. She's very articulate and open about her creative process.
In the HD recordings of the operas her voice is fine. Too bad Noh can only parrot ill-informed opinions of the Voigt-h8trs.
