Justin Chang
The movie is ultimately undone by its own reverence; there’s simply no room for these characters and stories to breathe of their own accord, and even the most fastidiously replicated scenes can feel glib and truncated. [More]

Oh god here come all the whiny dumb fanboys who give fanboys a bad name because they just whine over someone not liking something they haven't seen yet... I think the movie will be great but god damn people need to stop complaining over spilt milk.

Let's just make sure we keep the ranting and raving on as civil a level as possible. I have no reservations about banning people.

It just gets so annoying and bothersome seeing people bash critics over not liking a movie. I loved it when I think Eric D. Snyder put a bad review of The Dark Knight here on purpose to see how people would react. It was pretty funny.

If there are more preemptive message boards than this, I don't want to know about them.

Funny thing is, I fully expected this to be rated a positive when I read the review. Guess it's good that they assign actual grades here VS leaving it up to interpretation in Variety's own pages.

From the sound of it, maybe the director's cut will be more to his liking.

ihatecarneys- There's no point on guessing what the score will be cuz most of the time people look like idiots making predictions. I think it's funny fanboys complain about fanboys complaining when no fanboys complained in the first place. Anyways, The Dark Knight had people defend it on the negative reviews because there was not one well written review and most of them seemed to hate the movie because everyone else loved it. Everyone should just wait to see the movie before they judge a review. I am looking forward to this movie but I am expecting a lot more negative reviews due to critics hate for comic books.

Dude, look at the first negative review. The fanboys already whinged ages ago.

There was even a preemptive strike; "if you don't like it then you probably don't just get it."

LOL

Novain's responses here are the only thing less tolerable than the fanboyisms.

We get it, kid, you don't like things that other people like because it's the only means by which you can feel cool.

Get over yourself.

How can I hate on something well-liked when the movie isn't even out yet? Lol @ blind fanboyism.

Novain's little childish comments from another review:

"I welcome the negative reviews for this film with open arms."

Negative reviews are informative, but you're merely dancing with glee in the hope that this movie is unpopular.

You've not seen it. You've no idea what it will be like. You're already dancing around excitedly expecting the worst, drooling in anticipation of its failure, and deriding those who disagree with you.

You're like a mirror image of a fanboy, except you loathe that which they hold on a pedestal. Your comments are worthless, trite, and sterile.

This really wasn't a review. Just an overview of the movie and few little comments here and there. Calm down everyone.
