on Feb 26 2009 12:06 PM This was actually an awful review. He attempts to lend credence to his criticism via an exceptionally contemptuous tone and a complete misunderstanding of what he is viewing. A negative review is typically far more insightful than a positive review, as the IGN review was, but this is merely garbage. The man's criticisms are juvenile (Dr. Manhattan looks like an Oscar Award? That's your big criticism? Wow.) and ultimately have next-to-no bearing no the understanding of the actual story. There is nothing to recommend this critic's viewpoints, particularly after traversing through his past critiques. Quite awful. (Reply to this) |

on Feb 26 2009 03:14 PM I just knew this was going to happen the polls would go down and i think this is just the beginning with more reviews coming in. by the time its over it will probably be around 50-60% range because critics will be strict with this movie maybe even closer to 50%. on Feb 26 2009 04:02 PM The reviews aren't going to get that bad, unless of course we have more people who decide to give bad reviews on a story they don't understand. Saying the set pieces and look are bland, poking fun at the fact that Dr. Manhattan goes to Mars, etc. just show how ignorant he is of the source material. It's hard to judge a film when it hasn't hit theaters yet and the Watchmen should good similar in style to V for Vendetta since it's written by the same person. (Reply to this) |

on Feb 26 2009 07:20 PM This whole review is basically just immature pokes at the concept and story of the film, if you were going to do that, you could have written a review on the synopsis. Did you actually see Watchmen? "but soon realize these back stories owe more to soap operas than to superhero comics"...
