Actually the movie was much better than the pretentious comic. But for fans of the pretentious, I can see how they might have been upset. Likewise those who cherish all the Reagan-era Leftist perspective-based allegories.

As for writing amoral "dark" comics, go read some Savage Sword of Conan. Roy Thomas' people were doing this sort of thing a decade before Moore, and didn't feel the need to incorporate their own sophomoric anarchist ideological theories along the way.

Although I enjoyed the movie, I did find some of the music background choices kind of distracting. At one point I even wondered, 'why do we need music now'?

I agree with your review completely. I hated this movie. The acting isn't horrible, and it does look somewhat interesting in pictures, however, it was just so dark and sick, I just couldn't bare to watch the whole thing.

It had zero entertainment value, and calling this a superhero movie, gives all other superhero movies a future cloud of doom. Why they added music to some of the pointless scenes in this movie is beyond me.

But, like you say, 3 hour music video.
And, one, I would not want my music played in if I were a performer.

I usually like super hero movies, and sci-fi, but I did not like Watchmen. It sucked.
