Summary

Faithful Rotten Tomatoes readers know that we're always expanding and looking for new ways to keep these vines vibrant, unique, and exciting. Our latest endeavor: The Rotten Tomatoes Show, a movie review program that premiered last night (it's created by and featured on Current TV, where you can watch the premiere at any time). Hosts Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox give their take on the big-name movies, run down movie lists, ask the big questions ("Will there ever be a good video game movie?"), and, most important to you, feature your submitted reviews and thoughts on the program. You guys seriously need either new hosts or get them to tone it down.. they got VERY annoying after only a few minutes with the constants 'jokes'.. very forceful and unnatural, trying waaaay too hard being 'funny'

Is it impossible to NOT make some sort of side remark about EVERY movie, even the good ones??

Rotten Tomatoes with Brett and Ellen

I found their Pod reviews more interesting and more informative than the Old Siskel & Ebert Schtick.

Both Ellen and Brett have great comedy Creds and I found the jokes and takes very funny.

"Not L.?" Does that stand for "Not Laughing?" How appropriate.

II'm looking forward to the Thursday show and their take on Watchmen.

I love how more and more production companies are finding ways to get away with making shows like this and CNN's I-report in which they have very little actual development cost due to not having to pay writers or host to generate legitimate intellectual content by allowing people who are willing to do the work for free in exchange for their fifteen minutes of fame. Without having to pay staff members, the cost for a show such as this is little, leaving more money to be made off the advertising dollars; the viewer generated content should make advertising spots easier to sell seeing as the producers fair bet is that more people will watch such a cheesy show in hopes of seeing themselves broadcast. Of course its film/televisions and everyone has an opinion and it does not mater if a good portion of the general public is undereducated on the merits of film grammar or film criticism, or literary sources in general as long as it makes for good television and they have a webcam. So no one has to do any real work, evan us the "reviewers"; other than the underpaid camera crew, and the over worked editors who have to sift through all the dribble to make something cohesive (Not easy). Of course the station and producers profit from our own opinions that patrons will willing whore to them for nothing more than their own vanity. Great concept, almost no overhead and close to 100 profit, sadly I wish I had thought of it first. Oh Siskel and Ebert how I miss your show.

My hope would be that we allow ourselves a little more dignity and realize what these companies are doing. Even the worst hooker would tell you that if her pimp gets 100 percent profit from her legwork that she is be getting shafted in more ways than she sighed up for, and I don't think she would dig that "your damn right." - Thank you Isaac!

I caught it the other night, wasn't bad...though when giving the 'final' RT meter score, I don't think you should actually say final since it's always changing.

I think the Rotten Tomatoe show is pretty awesome, but I found a couple of flaws with the system. I think they need to stop saying these movies should of done better and basically bad mouthing them. I watched the premiere show, when they ranked Street Fighter and Crossing Over and no one got good reviews. Another thing is they need to maybe update it or give news about the movie releasing that week instead of the weeks before. But other than that, good work.
