We Were Dancing (1942)
Opportunistic young lovers, each believing the other is fabulously wealthy, hastily marry and afterward learn that each is terribly poor. The plot is taken from two short vignettes from Noel Cowards hit play Tonight at 8:30. The two are deeply in love but choose to keep their marriage a secret so they can go seeking rich people to seduce and hustle.
