With her life going nowhere and few prospects on the horizon, a lost middle-aged woman named Dee decides to organize a discussion group where L.A. residents can meet to talk about whatever's on their minds. With members ranging from young environmental activists to male chauvinist pigs to a Goth with an eating disorder, the Wednesday-night meetings quickly foster some interesting dialogue and colorful debate. Still, the question remains: can eight strangers really help each another lead more meaningful lives? THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT SAVE-THE-WORLD SOCIETY answers this in as humorous a manner as possible thanks to talented writer-director team Dave Eisenstark and Fred Burke. [More]
