There's very little about it that isn't utterly predictable, and naturally all major setbacks are quickly and easily overcome after a minute and a half music montage, before the final happy ending pancake platter is doused in syrupy overkill

If you're a girl between the ages of 11 and 15, it's probably pretty good, and you're less likely to be distracted by the chipmunk-cheeked Amanda Bynes' striking resemblance to Linda Blair in Exorcist II.

Teen movies don't have to be pandering and idiotic, but you wouldn't know that by watching this Girl, an aimless piece of fluff that trades in clichés and stock jokes that have for a long time now been signifiers of humor rather than the real thing
