Bruno plays himself -- well, maybe a slightly angrier, 100 percent more bearded version of himself -- in Barry Levinson's What Just Happened, the comic, often absurd tale of two weeks in the life of a Hollywood producer (De Niro). The satire, adapted by producer Art Linson (Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Heat) and loosely based on his own experiences, comes to theaters October 3 and also stars Stanley Tucci, Kristen Stewart, John Turturro, Catherine Keener, Robin Wright Penn, and Sean Penn as himself.

on Jul 07 2008 07:04 PM I've heard bad things about "What Just Happened?", but I'm still hoping for the best since De Niro is my favorite actor. Why De Niro can no longer attach himself to a high-quality movie these days is beyond me. (Reply to this) |

on Jul 07 2008 07:52 PM haha this clip is great. hopefully the movie turns out as well. (Reply to this) |

on Jul 08 2008 05:01 AM With regards to De Niro attaching himself to a high quality movie, look at Righteous Kill, coming out in September with him and Al Pacino. (Reply to this) |

on Jul 08 2008 08:36 AM The buzz on this film is that it's awful, and it won't even be "wide" released. It'll follow the release pattern, for the most part, of an indy or an art-house film. Total Box Office around $3-6 million. (Reply to this) |

on Jul 08 2008 09:47 AM Well, I wasn't terribly impressed with this clip. Just an actor yelling at a producer and throwing a tantrum. Guess I missed something. (Reply to this) |

on Jul 08 2008 10:09 AM I always laugh when actors attempt tp play "themselves" because 90% of them can't convincingly play themselves... (Reply to this) |
on Jul 08 2008 10:24 AM It was amusing, mainly because I like Willis, and I like an actor who can make fun of themselves on the screen. (Reply to this) |

on Jul 08 2008 10:51 AM Hmmm...It didn't do anything for me at all. Maybe one has to be more of a fan of these particular actors than I am to "get" it. (Reply to this) |

on Jul 08 2008 11:10 AM I thought it was comical. Maybe Tarantino should have wrote the lines though. (Reply to this) |

on Jul 09 2008 07:02 AM In reply to this comment (#1849747) The weird thing is that at this point in his career looking like Jeff Bridges in Iron Man might draw more people than looking like himself (Reply to this) |

on Jul 09 2008 12:20 PM Righteous Kill? High quality film? From the director of 88 Minutes? I don't think so! Let's just hope though that the two thesps redeem themselves with something more honorable. (Reply to this) |
