Nathan Fillion Talks "White Noise" Sequel
by RT Staff | March 14, 2006
Discuss Article
Sci Fi Wire talked to "Serenity" star Nathan Fillion about his upcoming thriller, "White Noise 2: The Light," which has just started filming in Vancouver.

In the original, abysmally rated "White Noise" (which boasts a 9% on the Tomatometer), a widower (Michael Keaton) believed he could communicate with the dead through household recording devices. The sequel, "White Noise 2: The Light," seems to shy away from that dubious phenomenon and instead employs a much more fictitious, "Final Destination"-ish plot.

From Sci Fi Wire: "After a near-death experience, Fillion's character discovers he has the psychic ability to see who's going to die next. "He can see things, but people think he's crazy, and he just falls apart," Fillion said. "And, yes, there is some of the recordings of the dead on machines and all that.""

Nathan Fillion next stars in the creature feature "Slither," which opens March 31, 2006.

The first one had a great premise that was ruined by an incredibly stupid ending. But it was good seeing Michael Keaton in a movie again. This one on the other hand....not seeing it.

Horrid.
There is NO NEED for a sequel to that piece of garbage. Stop littering!

wait wait wait let me get this straight...they're making a White Noise 2, yet there is a debate over whether Serenity is getting a sequel....ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? Hollywood really has gone to hell, hasn't it?

Wasn't this the plot to an "X-Files" episode? And "Twilight Zone" episode? And a "Night Gallery" Episode? And about half a dozen other TV shows, made-for-TV movies and any number of other projects? "White Noise" was one of last year's worst movies. Why do the producers think anyone wants to see a sequel to it?

Do you really need to ask? If I remember correctly, White Noise had a good opening weekend. These days, that's enough to get a sequel greenlit.
