Romantic comedy isn’t rocket science, but it’s nice to sit through one that makes you laugh, stirs the sentiment, and also leaves you feeling good about all the characters.

But even a small-town girl can have big dreams, and Rosalee’s is to someday…somehow… meet her big-screen idol Tad Hamilton (Josh Duhamel). The "somehow" arrives in the form of a contest—the grand prize: a date with Tad Hamilton—and the "someday" is now. Rosalee wins, much to the chagrin of her best friend and co-worker Pete (Topher Grace), who is deeply, hopelessly—and secretly—in love with Rosalee. The "Win a Date" contest was cooked up by Tad’s agent, Richard Levy (Nathan Lane), and his manager, also named Richard Levy (Sean Hayes), to clean up Tad’s bad-boy image. Someone should have told them to be careful what you wish for. When Tad meets Rosalee and gets a taste of what he’s been missing in the "real world," he decides he wants seconds and moves to West Virginia, turning Rosalee’s dream come true into a nightmare for Richard Levy, Richard Levy and, most of all, Pete. "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton!" stars Kate Bosworth ("Blue Crush"), Topher Grace ("Traffic," TV’s "That 70’s Show"), Daytime Emmy winner Josh Duhamel (TV’s "Las Vegas," "All My Children"), Gary Cole ("The Brady Bunch" features) and Ginnifer Goodwin ("Mona Lisa Smile"), with Emmy winner Sean Hayes (TV’s "Will and Grace") and Tony Award winner Nathan Lane ("The Birdcage," Broadway’s "The Producers"). Australian native Robert Luketic, who made his feature film directorial debut with the smash hit comedy "Legally Blonde," directed "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton" from an original screenplay by Victor Levin (TV’s "The Larry Sanders Show," "Mad About You"). "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton!" is produced by Oscar® winner Douglas Wick ("Gladiator," "Stuart Little") and former Vice Chairman of Sony’s Columbia Tri-Star Motion Picture Group Lucy Fisher ("Peter Pan"). William S. Beasley ("The Tuxedo," "The Mexican") and Gail Lyon ("Stuart Little," "Peter Pan") are the executive producers. -- © DreamWorks Pictures [More]

Reviews for Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!
There's nothing here that hasn't been seen or done before, but Luketic and his stars' unabashed sweetness and sincerity make for a winning confection.
Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! isn't as lame as most January releases, but it's hardly a dream date.
The actors, especially Grace, fight hard against a schizoid script (the kids are rubes one sec, hipsters the next) and cotton-candy direction from Robert Luketic.
The cast gives it the real heave-ho. Unfortunately, by the time the movie reaches its...conclusion, the whole audience is tempted to forgo the ho and just simply heave.
Bosworth brings real charm to a character that might easily have come off as a simpering ninny.
It must be admitted that the final 10 minutes of Win A Date With Tad Hamilton! are likable: one cliche following another, but with charming restraint. Or it might just have been that the movie's simple-mindedness wore me down.
Duhamel certainly passes as a fox - a fact I only mention because the folks at DreamWorks clearly use his looks as a marketing tool.
Personality and affability can sustain a picture in this genre when story flaws might otherwise sabotage it. Long live Topher Grace and Gary Cole!
This breezy romantic comedy, like the winning date it depicts, may not be a deep experience -- but it's an entertaining one.
In a jaw-dropping moment of product placement, the characters actually discuss the merits of the brand of potato chip they're eating...
While the cast has its charm, they are nevertheless stuck in a by-the-numbers script that the main character would probably hate.
...innocuously breezy, witty, and acceptably charming in its saccharine-induced appeal...giddy gals will find Tad Hamilton refreshingly spry and spunky in hokey spirit
What separates this film from its teen romantic-comedy brethren is that it entertains without pandering to its audience.
