Paramount Preps Direct-to-DVD Sequel Onslaught
Tired of watching all the other studios have fun with direct-to-DVD sequels, Paramount is rolling out its Famous Productions brand, which will release home-market sequels to films such as Without a Paddle, Road Trip, Mean Girls, and The Bad News Bears.

Dane Cook Comedy Hires a Few New Employees
Coming soon is the Dane Cook / Jessica Simpson comedy "Employee of the Month," and it seems that three new applicants have joined the mix: Dax Shepard ("Without a Paddle"), Efren Ramirez ("Napoleon Dynamite"), and Harland Williams ("There's Something About Mary") will soon be filling out their time cards on the high-concept comedy.

Dax & "Job" Sell Their Own Starring Vehicle to Paramount
The Hollywood Reporter indicates that actors Will Arnett (TV's "Arrested Development") and Dax Shepard ("Without a Paddle") have sold a comedy pitch to Paramount, with Shepard attached as screenwriter and both actors on board as stars.

Ray Liotta to Make Another "Comeback"
Former "Kids in the Hall" comedian Bruce McCulloch will write and direct the comedy "Comeback Season," and it looks like leading man Ray Liotta ("Goodfellas," "No Escape") has also climbed aboard. Liotta will star alongside Shaun Sipos ("Final Destination 2," "Baby Geniuses 2"), Glenne Headly ("Eulogy," "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels") and Rachel Blanchard ("Road Trip," "Without a Paddle").

Dax Shepard & Wil Arnett "Are Going to Prison"
Variety brings news of an all-new comedy flick that's just about to get underway. "You Are Going to Prison" will star Wil Arnett (of TV's "Arrested Development") and Dax Shepard ("Without a Paddle") as a mismatched pair of convicts forced to share the same cell. (One's a grizzled con, the other's a white-collar snob.) Bob Odenkirk ("Melvin Goes to Dinner") has been signed to direct; screenwriters on the scene include Thomas Lennon ("The Pacifier"), Robert Ben Garant ("Taxi") and Michael Patrick Jann ("Drop Dead Gorgeous").
