unbreakable_samurai writes: on Apr 15 2007 08:48 AM He's a great actor and instantly will bring some good credibility to this movie, which was already sounding pretty sweet with Del Toro as the wolfman. (Reply to this) |

GRD writes: on Apr 15 2007 11:33 AM Hopkins looks nothing like Del Toro -- but then Claude Rains looked nothing like Lon Chaney. I saw the old one on TCM and couldn't stop thinking, "You're kidding me. THAT guy is supposed to be THAT guy's father?" So I guess they're just following tradition! (Reply to this) |

Mudhole writes: on Apr 15 2007 01:00 PM In reply to this comment (#861419) well.. Anthony Hopkins already played a black man once, so I don't see why he can't play the father of a Puerto Rican. (Reply to this) |

Scarborough Fair writes: on Apr 15 2007 01:54 PM Is the wolfman gene passed from father to son? I thought you could only get to be a wolfman if your MOTHER was a wolfman. Isn't that how it goes? I don't know, i'm not a scientist. (Reply to this) |

Mudhole writes: on Apr 15 2007 04:12 PM In reply to this comment (#861421) The wolfman gene is recessive, but you can get it from either your father or mother. Your father may be a carrier and you'd never know. (Reply to this) |

mojodaddy writes: on Apr 15 2007 05:48 PM Cool. This will be an easy movie to make because Del Toro doesn't even need any makeup to look like a werewolf. (Reply to this) |

eastern2western writes: on Apr 15 2007 09:23 PM well, I think del toro does not need any makeup to look weird but he still needs some hair to look a alike a wolf (Reply to this) |

jeanpaul writes: on Apr 16 2007 09:41 AM GROWL...!!! GROWL...!! (in British accent). Wait. So you are telling me, Sire Anthony Hopkins wants to do "GROWL!! GROWL!! in a "Wolfman" flick? Well, I guess that he will atleast "growl" in that certain, hofty British accent, that will make it look classic? Is the Sire "loosing it"? "That guy was Wierd" --- Quotation from AQUA TEAM HUNGER FORCE COLON MOVIE FILM FOR THEATRES!!! (or in short: ATHFCMFFT). (Reply to this) |

godaz writes: on Feb 02 2008 02:08 PM the wolfman premise is always an always an intriging one... if the producers use a special approach for the thematics of the mood... (ref carry on screaming has a spooky feel to it). Hulk 2003 was an interesting movie...perhaps more should be made of the wolfman's movement (uses 2 legs and 2 arms to move or on all fours - this aspect of the movie could be developed as a unique special effect in a shadow form)rather than pure styling. Often if CGI is used in a harsh way the craft of the movie can be lost... Hopkins is a strong choice for the wolfman...with enough acting power to play the role in a more adult way... this could make for a special experience rather than just another monster movie... especially if he is able to develop other aspects of the wolfman into the way he communicates with young women...this could highlight as to whether the studio does decide to take a more adult approach to this aspect of the movie... Dracula 1992 was very good because of the careful arrangement of scenes and Hopkins careful style of acting promoted the most sinister Dracula creation since Fright Night 1985... perhaps the producers should return to a more ghoulish approach for this remake... american wolf in london 1981 delivered a good fusion of sex and horror but perhaps lacked a certain big budget atmosphere... often the prestige factor may lie in developing more than just one role for hopkins in the movie thus giving a more open style for the storyline and a bolder outlook for character development i.e do the women see him as a sexual threat or as a secret desire longing to be fulfilled... certainly the themes of lust longing, and dreams could be developed to make for more interesting sexual content and hopefully more continuity in the movie rather than a cut edit finished product that leaves you feeling half full...(by midnight?)... RuinerxxSINCITY writes: on Apr 10 2008 03:04 AM Anthony Hopkins is one of the truly greatest actors in movie history, and I still find it incredible how he always has a film on the horizon. You would think that Sir Anthony would like to slow down a bit, and maybe go into semi-retirement like Sean Connery. It's really incredible how no matter if his last movie didn't make a ton of money or just bomb completely it never hurts his career. (Reply to this) |
