Wolverine Set to Start Filming
We hear Australia is lovely this time of year.

It's got a script, a director, and a star -- and now, reports TheXverse, the X-Men spinoff Wolverine is prepping for production.

It's a brief item -- as you'd expect, really, since all there is to say is "they're getting ready to start filming" -- but fans who have waited this long for a full-on Wolverine movie are interested in any details they can get, so here goes: An "inside source" has informed the site that the film is still on target for a November start, and that it'll be shooting in Australia. (Sydney, to be precise.)

Wolverine, which stars Hugh Jackman in a reprise of his role from the X-Men films, will be directed by Gavin Hood (Rendition) from a script by David Benioff (The Kite Runner), and is slated for a 2008 release.

When Wolverine first was drawn, he was 5' 4". That's hilarious.

If this movie is shooting in Australia, I doubt the plot could be about Wolverine's early "Weapon-X" days for the Canadian military. I figure its a post-X-Men days story, so some cameos are possible. Somebody will have a cheesy cameo, it's inevitable. I'd rather see a big duel between Wolvy and Sabretooth, but Hollywood never gets cool like that. *sigh*

The majority might be post X-men but he may have flashbacks as to how he met William Stryker and Sabertooth...besides, we still don't don't what he was like pre Weapon X. For all we know he could've been a criminal.

Can the Hollywood bigwigs for once decide to go with an origin story that is *ahem* actually a character's origin story? I, personally, would not mind a BIT seeing the young Wolverine in his Joe Quesada run "Origin", which explains just about everything one would ever need to know about Wolverine, and has just enough action to boot. Frank Miller's take would be equally acceptable. What I don't want to see is some bullcrap slapped together on a late, drunken Saturday night by a few producers and writers who decided to butcher the name of a great American hero for a couple million bucks. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to predict exactly that.

As long as its not at all like the last x-men movie. that one ruined it for me. I hated it to be honest.
