In "Return to Kansas City," a struggling boxer (Matt Dillon) tries to provide for his homesick wife (Kyra Sedgwick). "A Domestic Dilemma" finds a businessman (Ray Liotta) losing his wife (Andie MacDowell) to alcoholism. In "Mara," an American writer (Scott Glenn) in Paris takes in a prostitute (Juliette Binoche).

Second in the series of short stories adapted for television in the early 90s by HBO features great cast. This round is much heavier than the first set with the women in the first 2 stories coming off rather unsympathetic. The last story here "Mara" from Henry Miller and adapted and directed by Mike Figgis is probably
