Weekly Ketchup: WB makes plans for Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and The Flash
This week's Ketchup features a lot of big name franchises. Included in the mix are movies based on Aquaman, Dilbert, The Flash, Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown, MAD Magazine, Mass Effect, Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman, as well as new movies for Christian Bale, James McAvoy and Bruce Willis.

WonderCon: "Wonder Woman," "Speed Racer," "White Out" Details
While in San Francisco to promote "The Reaping," uber producer Joel Silver revealed details about a couple movies he has in development during the panel. The one furthest along is a thriller called "White Out" starring Kate Beckinsale as Carrie Stetko, a marshal investigating a murder in Antarctica. Silver said "White Out" will be the "coldest thriller of all time."

DC Comics Movie Update: Watchmen, Flash & Shazam!

There Will Be No "X4," But....
...that doesn't mean the series won't be mined for future "stand-alone" projects, most notably the "Wolverine" spinoff and the "Magneto" semi-prequel. And I'd bet huge money that a "Next Generation X-Men" trilogy will be greenlit before too long.

Here's a funny story: Since they're a goofy and irreverent collection of movie geeks, the JoBlo guys posted an amusing little "April Fool's!" joke last weekend. In a news entry that's clearly meant to be a joke, JoBlo reported that Underworld star Kate Beckinsale had been cast in the lead role of Joss Whedon's upcoming Wonder Woman flick. But then the IMDb's news-feed repeated the info as "fact," every website on the planet caught wind of the "news," and now even Variety is reporting on the confusion!

Pictures...and it's news that should please many a frantic fanboy: not only is the "Wonder Woman" movie project a full-on, green-light go, and not only is there already an intriguing little teaser poster in circulation...but it looks like the flick will be written and directed by none other than Joss Whedon.

Basinger as Wonder Woman?
Citing Ananova and the New York Post, Dark Horizons reports that Kim Basinger is in the running for the lead in a big screen version of Wonder Woman, if the producers decide to make the character older. If the filmmakers go for a younger actress, Jessica Biel of "Blade: Trinity" is the favorite.
