Wreck-It Ralph was great, but I was expecting a much different plot probably like most others, like how most of the movie is in Candy Land meets Mario Kart. It was colourful, and entertaining solidly, but it's not the best animated film ever. I have a big sequel idea in mind though, and if a sequel gets made as I think, it'll probably be in my category of best animated films, but How to Train your Dragon, Coraline, The Adventures of Tintin, and Brave are all much better, just to me.
Yeah, I gotta say I agree. Only just now watched it after constantly passing on it for something else, but I must say I'm surprised by how fantastic it was. I think, as a gamer, it was doubly-awesome for me to sit back and try to catch every reference.
The game world doesn't make any sense when you think about it (are there many versions of the same game? If they can travel through electricity, why don't they move to another arcade? Can they do that? etc), but I found that it didn't bother me. Also, I was surprised by how much I liked the kid. From the trailers, she looked annoying as hell, but they really gave her a great story and personality.
Gotta say, it made this old, dried up, dead heart beep a little on ye olden EKG.
since i have a three year old girl i saw pretty much everything and i would say this is the one that had me smile! i was definitely entertained by this one so sure this is the best of 2012 (didnt see rise of the guardians though)

I preferred Toy Story 3 to this, but I agree that this is definitely the best film since then, miles better than Brave and Rise of the Guardians...
