Discuss Article
Fox has released the long-awaited teaser trailer for next year's "X-Men 3," and it's full of tasty visuals bound to whet your appetite for some hot mutant action! Click here to view the trailer, courtesy of Apple.

The third installment of the blockbuster Marvel comic adaptation, "X3" will bring back Professor X's beloved heroes, introduce new characters like Beast (Kelsey Grammer), Angel (Ben Foster), and Juggernaut (Vinnie Jones), and pick up on the Dark Phoenix saga following Jean Grey's sacrifice in the previous sequel, "X2: X-Men United." X-Men enthusiasts will enjoy the additions of numerous other supporting mutants in the Brett Ratner-directed "X3," including appearances by Shadowcat, Jubilee, Emma Frost, Omega Red, Multiple Man, Callisto, Stacy X, and more.

Check out the teaser trailer or our handy flipbook for some stunning visuals, like Magneto ripping the Golden Gate bridge apart, a funeral scene (one of a few rumored deaths in the third feature), and Storm's new 'do (a nice stylish bob, perfect for the modern mutant).

"X-Men 3" is slated for release May 26, 2006 and stars Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Famke Janssen, Halle Berry, James Marsden and more.

Hey, you stole one of my Newsday pieces for tomorrow! ;)

I thought the trailer was pretty darn solid! I liked the music a whole lot, actually.

Looks better than I'd anticipated. Doubt that's the music they'll use tho.

wow, this is a mixed bag. the trailer is very good. VEry well edited together, but do yourself a favour, after you watch this trailer, go back and look at it frame for frame. I was doing this just to catch all of the mutants due to the fact that i couldnt see them because of the rapid fire cutting, and i notcied a lot to dislike about it. For one, wolverine seems to be jumping around way too much, maybe someone told him that he was starring in a DMX attempt at martial arts cinema. storm keeps on spinning around, and kelsey grammar i dont find looks too good as beast. it's not really his fault, i thought he would be a perfect casting choice, just what the hell is up with his makeup? It looks like they had desgined hiim for a toy before they started actually designing him for the film. It just doesnt look real, which is a quality i really enjoyed about the second X-men. There was a sense that maybe this could actually happen. it seems like Brett ratner might be steering this series in the wrong direction by making it more "cartoony."

But who knows, this is just the trailer, hopefully the movie will kick all sorts of bootay. I'm rooting for it!

You notice the big, but not giant, Juggernaught? He jsut looks like a body builder, not the larger than life mutant from the comic books. They should have left him out it they couldn't properly present him.

Sorry...
I realize this is being really nerdy and I will have much lunch money taken just for mentioning this but...

Juggernaught is not a mutant his powers are magical. Unless you count ultimate juggernaught but I believe the source of his powers have yet to be given.

Anywho trailer looks good and I don't mind the beast, my big problem is what I have about the plot of this film....does not sound very good and I agree that I hope bret ratner keeps it realistic and doesn't make it too cartoony (was there a scene where wolverine wasn't chomping on a cigar?)

Come on now
I thought this trailer was perfect. It was a teaser, yet not unsatisfyingly short. It showed us a great deal while never focusing on one thing for very long at all. It asks more questions than it answers. It's the perfect trailer.
Now, did beast look a little strange? yes i think so; the make-up looked a little bulky and I didn't think he looked big enough in his brief action scenes.
I'm excited to see the development of Phoenix and this trailer has definitely given me hope of our less than trusty friend mr. rattner

I did the frame by frame thing and...
Juggernaut looks awful. On aint it cool, they are complaining about his size...but the original from the comics aint all that big (about 7 feet) its the costume...its goofy.

And why not tease the audience about the dark phoenix saga too? Instead, we know right from the get go that jean is alive....and changed.

Iceman still only shoots ice, and doesnt become an all out iceman, so thats a bummer. Angel looked ok, just a little old. Beast looks doofy....look closely, he looks like hes wearing a fur suit.

I have a bad feeling that for the sake of trying to throw everything in but the kitchen sink, the story will blow.

Word on the street, is this is the last marvel flick that fox will be doing, as arad and marvel entertainment are moving over to paramount. (everyone but wolverine...which stays with fox) Good thing too, cuz fox really hates marvel characters.

I am so torn on this movie.

Beast and Juggernaut look dumb. Still no Gambit. Then again, some of it looked pretty cool.

It seems that my original complaint with Juggernaught is comming true. Like sabertooth in X1 they seem to have turned a great character into a mindless thug. Beast I don't mind so much, clearly he has a large role otherwise they wouldn't have gotten Kelsey Grammer who I think will do the character well. I am actually kind of happy with the teaser, it seems that this movie is going to reach some sort of explosive conclusion rather than the less dramatic predecessors. I mean come on we all wanna see a massive fight involving a shit load of mutants, and I know its cliche but I am pumped to see Iceman Vs Pyro and Juggernaught Vs Beast/Collossus

impressions
I actually like the way Beast looks (his face anyways) and I think Kelsey Grammar will do a good job portraying him as long as the script doesn't suck. Not that impressed with Juggernaut though; he looks like he belongs in He-Man or something. Overall I liked the trailer, although when rewatching it and doing the frame-by-frame did notice that Storm was spinning a whole lot, there was something off about Angel's look, and I wasn't impressed with the Dark Phoenix costume or whatever Jean Grey was wearing when with Magneto. I'm a little worried about all the extra mutants; character development was already a bit thin in the previous movies. Not sure who the funeral is for, but I didn't notice Jean Grey or Professor X there in that wide shot either, but that could be a red herrring.

Being an X-Men fan I'm still excited about this movie coming out. The trailer was enough to pique my curiosity.

Well...
You're probably right about Cyclops dying (notice how he is mourning Jean's death at the lake, then it shows Wolverine and Cyclop's glasses "floating" towards him? I think Dark Phoenix kills him and then Wolverine finds Jean when he goes to the lake and takes her back to the manison. But that big funeral was probably for Prof. X, because all the mutants except Prof. X and Cyclops were their mourning someone's death.

As it stands now, Juggernaut looks like a panzy. But I don't think they would go ahead and mess him up THAT bad. Hopefully, this is only a "non-pumped" mode, and when he 'activates' the power of the gem, he'll grow in bulk. Even though that approach is kind of wonky, it's the best I can come up with for why they'd portray Juggernaut so badly.

Probably
All we saw was Juggernaut standing,in restraints, and walking. Hopefully Juggernaut will become bigger when he fights. If he's not going to have his original costume,he needs to atleast become bigger. It will look a lot better when he fights. I'm looking forward to watching the Juggernaut vs. Colossus fight.

DANGER ROOM?
Upon further review, this may be a decent movie. Though I still think Brett Ratner is that annoying loud drunk I would have to kick out of a party.

As for Juggernaut... that helmet is starting to make sense. Still goofy, but like Magneto's I think I could get used to it. Notice, though, that it is very similarly shaped to Magneto's? Perhaps it is also helps protect him from psychic attacks?

Beast does look kinda silly. Like that scene where he's fighting in the street. Then again Kelsey Grammer might just have the gravitas to pull it off.

And I finally figured out why that scene of Wolverine chomping on a cigar in World War 2 confused me. It's the danger room. Those bastards are actually going to put the danger room in . About freakin' time!

Prof. X dies. So does Cyclops. Two characters that I felt were underutilized. Whatever, I guess it is the last in the series. Even bet says that Magneto bites it too. Wasn't the Magneto movie a prequel?

Dark Pheonix? Cool. Is that her teaming with Magneto in San Francisco? Better not be.

So, yeah, that was a really good teaser. This alone might turn around all the negative hype that has come before. Sure as heck made me rethink my stance.

Do you have any source saying Cyclops or Prof X dies? It just seems kinda illogical to me for them to kill either, even though they haven't really used Cyclops at all. I thought the teaser was pretty solid all around, and I actually really liked Beasts look.

im not sure if it is it, but its about a little past the halfway mark of the film where you see magneto on the hill with his mutants and the human soldiers are firing at them, and all they do is stand there, then behind magneto, all of a sudden a bird like flame shoots up

I myself think Beast looks just fine, and there is not a doubt in my mind that Kelsey Grammar will be awesome to the max, but I agree on the goofy looking Juggernaut. He looks so...bulgy. Yet small. Ah, wht the hell. This movie's gonna be great.

With this "likely" being the last of the films... expect drastic changes in this and those who have read the spoilers may in fact know some of the upcoming events... But just from looking at the trailer... that last stand has magneto and jean/phoenix walking together.... good f'n luck against that x-men... this movie is going to be really crazy finding a way to satisfy or be really crazy dissapointing everyone
