This blazing "pre-boot" breathes new life into the sagging franchise
I like reviewers that give the movie reviews base on what they are. In Fast Five he said that you gonna find a lot of holes in the plot but then quickly reply that crowd probably is not going to the movie to find sense in the story and bad dialogue in times but going for the great stunts, action sequences and hot starts. In X-men he said that the power of the characters in times are silly but then quickly go to the strenghs of the movie. He review Pirates base on the other Pirates movies and Thor on the other superhero movies. I wish critics mostly think like him instead on trying to be to smart.

agreed well balanced review

I don't read full reviews too often, but I do like the short review samples he submits to RT. Most critics try too hard to be clever and all fancy with their big words, which is usually more cheesy than informative. But not Richard. He's always straight to the point and he never sugar-coats anything. He just tells it like it is. I like what you pointed out too, about how he presents pros and cons for the movie he's reviewing. Seems like he doesn't like to take sides. That's good to see. Yeah, definitely one of my favorite critics (which actually isn't saying much, I hate most of the critics on RT and can only somewhat stand the rest of them lol).

No. It really wasn't a good movie. It was not consistently funny or exciting, it was bloated and unfocused. Really weak.

This movie was the best blockbuster we've had so far this summer. Richard Roeper was right on the money.

I bet you'd all be cussing him out if he gave it a negative review, people are pathetic.

You must really like to be different from everyone else. I DON'T believe that the series was sagging though.

He's probably talking about X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I agree that the trilogy is great, but Origins is a part of the franchise and I thought it was a pretty disappointing movie. Maybe you liked it. If so, that's cool. It's not a terrible movie, just terrible by comparison (in my opinion anyway).

Richard Roeper all of your reviews always make sense. Please make a movie show again ebert and roeper was my favorite show. Please write back if its not a bother
Jun 6 - 07:17 PM
I agree! Please bring back Ebert and Roeper!!!!
Jun 7 - 05:10 AM
That might be difficult considering Ebert can no longer actually talk and all as a result of his surgery for his mandibular cancer, unless you want to hear him give reviews with Stephen Hawking's voice.
It would be weird to hear him disagreeing with Roeper on this one though; Ebert with his tinny machine voice and Roeper defending this film with his real voice.

apelspapa I know but they should make it richard roeper and like michael Phillips or A.O. Scott their also great film critics. But they would need to get thumbs up or thumbs down thing back and the wagging finger of shame

Another reason why Richard Roeper is one of the greatest critics out there.

One of the greatest? He's one of the worst critics in the biz.

Sagging Franchise? I think this movie made the least of all X-men based movies and the Origins were all wrong. I thought only X-men 3 fell short because Dark Phoenix took everyone from several comic franchises to beat in the comics.

Well the crappy wolverine is worse and the third one which they are both unfortunatlry in the franshise which is why he said the because the last two were falling short untill this one came along and helped it. The first two are great
