"X-Files" writer/producer Frank Spotnitz admits that the franchise's second installment didn't do as well as hoped, but he says another sequel isn't out of the question -- and may be one of several films to use the Mayan calendar for inspiration.

X-Files: I Want To Believe Sneak Peek
The clips were so revealing, viewers could gather the following: Scully and Mulder are in it, they're looking for something, and they disagree about how to go about it. The panelists were equally tight-lipped about plot details, but at least one clip showed Scully bringing up Mulder's sister, so that made the crowd go wild.

The truth is finally out there about the new "X-Files" movie title.
The second big-screen spinoff of the paranormal TV adventure will be called "The X-Files: I Want to Believe," Chris Carter, the series' creator and the movie's director and co-writer, told The Associated Press.

Expect The X-Files Movie in Summer 2008?
David Duchovny has recently revealed to IGN Movies the next X-Files movie is further along in pre-production. Shooting is (very) tentatively planned to start this November, with a summer 2008 release date in mind.
