Does anyone really care about another X-Files movie? I don't.

I'll watch it for sure. The show was great, until the end when it became lame.

I do. And I'm sure there are many others who care as well. If you don't, why waste your time and energy posting a comment to that effect? The X files was probably one of the best television shows of all time. It set the stage [and the bar] for lost and countless other shows. With the right people, this has all of the elements for a very long and successful franchise.

I know people love this franchise, and I can kinda understand why even though it's not my cup of tea, but I have a tough time getting up for this movie because the first one was so bad and as has already been stated the series kinda went downhill toward the end. I guess we'll just have to hope the time off has allowed the production team to refuel their batteries, not totally impossible I guess and hey if it fails we'll always have Evolution :) which was clearly superior in every way to the first Files film. That's what they need for the sequal...more Stifler.

I'm pretty sure they killed off the lone gunman so it's unlikely unless they go with flashbacks or a supernatural storyline that would permit it. Still though, I wonder if their considering continuing The X-files as an ongoing film series.

I care a lot about it as well. I even liked the series the last few years when Doggett was the lead.

5 years since the last episode? thats it? seems more like 10. i caught on in the last 2 seasons and was a decent fan but...this just seems like hollywood trying to make a buck(go figure!). this really doesn't have anything going for them though, Duchy really isn't that big anymore and Anderson well...honestly i haven't heard anything from her but a few topless paparazzi shots and thats it. hopefully its good cuz maaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe they'll finally wisen up and make the FireFly-Serenity sequels since its kind of along similiar lines(sci fi tv...then movie) although XFiles was more successful

I think the thing that actually sunk the show was getting off-track too much from the main mythology. I hated how there were just never any answers. If they'd stuck to the game plan, given us some answers and a decent conclusion, I'd have watched the show up until the end. I quit before Duchovny and Anderson even left. But if this movie doesn't require anyone to be caught up on what's going on and is more standalone, at least I don't have to go in confused...

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I really liked the conspiracy plotlines. It just seems to me that a stand-alone movie will resemble an elongated episode of the tv show. And I wouldn't mind at all if Dogett and Reyes show up.

Unbelievably smart, classy and ingeniously quirky show great first film. My husband who never watched the show also liked the movie a lot and he's a very tough critic. The movie, I heard made hundreds of millions world wide.

I don't know why this fantastic threesome--Carter, Duchovny and Anderson--don't do as many quality sequels as they can (or other creative undertakings together!!)..it's rare when this kind of chemistry between artists in TV/film comes along and wouldn't you think they'd take better advantage of it! Sequels with less potential are being made all the time and draw large audiences just because of familiarity and formula. But with these three you get familiarity and genius creativity; it's never blandly formulaic.

I say bring on the fantastic three and more X-Files sequels!
