But how's this different from the other X-Files movie rumors and false starts we've endured for years? Apparently, this time, there's something resembling a script floating around.
"I'm actually supposed to see it next week!" Duchovny said, "Before I would just say that [there was a movie] because they told me. But now, after talking to [series creator] Chris [Carter] -- he's been giving me progress reports -- he actually called yesterday, and said 'Next week, you should have something to read.'"
Duchovny confirmed that Gillian Anderson has signed on to reprise her Scully role, and that the movie will be a standalone feature that's not too involved with the series' "mythology" story arc.

Given that it's been five years since the show ended (and about seven years since a really good episode), if this movie finally has a chance of being made, you bet we want to believe.

If you don't, why waste your time and energy posting a comment to that effect? The X files was probably one of the best television shows of all time. It set the stage [and the bar] for lost and countless other shows. With the right people, this has all of the elements for a very long and successful franchise. (Reply to this) |

Bigbrother writes: on Jul 16 2007 01:37 PM I know people love this franchise, and I can kinda understand why even though it's not my cup of tea, but I have a tough time getting up for this movie because the first one was so bad and as has already been stated the series kinda went downhill toward the end. I guess we'll just have to hope the time off has allowed the production team to refuel their batteries, not totally impossible I guess and hey if it fails we'll always have Evolution :) which was clearly superior in every way to the first Files film. That's what they need for the sequal...more Stifler. (Reply to this) |

Still though, I wonder if their considering continuing The X-files as an ongoing film series. (Reply to this) |
