Singer May Bolt From "Logan's Run"
by Scott Weinberg | May 16, 2006
Discuss Article
"X-Men" and "Superman Returns" director Bryan Singer might have to make some tough decisions over the summer. He's got producer Joel Silver all excited about their "Logan's Run" remake, but Mr. Singer's also contracted to deliver a "Super" sequel, which WB might want to fast-track in this summer goes swell for the Caped One.

From Variety: "Bryan Singer may not direct the remake of "Logan's Run" after all. Warner Bros. and producer Joel Silver want to start lensing the sci-fi pic this fall, which would mean Singer might end up shooting two tentpoles -- "Logan's" and a "Superman Returns" sequel -- back-to-back. No one begrudges Singer for seeking a break from big-budget projects, although the filmmaker probably won't make an official decision either way about "Logan's Run" until "Superman Returns" bows in (June)."

The report also passes along a rumor that "V for Vendetta" director James McTeigue might step in should Mr. Singer walk on "Run."

Either director, I'm looking forward to seeing this remake.

I don't usually care for remakes, but if there ever was one Logan's Run is a great choice, especially if Bryan Singer or James McTeigue is involved. Even though I'm a big fan of Singer, I think that given it' subject matter, McTeigue would be better suited for it. Now, who would be best to replace Farrah Fawcett?

Gee, what a surprise. Bryan Singer dropping out from a movie he promised to do in order to make something else? It never once occured to me that he would do such a thing.... *cough*

McTeigue showed he can handle the weightier stuff and be successful when it comes to mindless explosions.
i'll think he'd be great.
no loss if singer is bowing out.

Mcteigue was the assisstant director on the matrix...So that doesn't really count for his directing ability

The Island was a ripoff of an old move called Clonus which was the EXACT same thing except "the island" was called "America" and it sucked just as bad. Logans Run wasnt an original idea in the first place, Echo, THX1138... these are all the same movie just from different POVs and different events. The Island was a disgrace to filmmaking and WHY HASNT ANYONE STOPPED MICHAEL BAY!!????

brian singer genius... mcteigue...
first two x-men... genius, third... retarded. The third movie was such a waste. Singer does logan's run, movie will be great... let mcteigue do it, it'll be a gaudy special effects super hit geared with crappy nerdesk sci-fi dialouge, sucking the life from its potential. Superman oughta be the shiaaat tho.
