doc.grizzly writes: on Jul 21 2008 11:17 AM XXX3, I will only see it if it has Vin Diesel, Samuel Jackson, and Ice cube. The three most ridiculous "actors" in the most ridiculous and unneeded franchise, staring in a movie with not just 3 x's, but a 3 to top it off, I can't wait to pick it up at the 5.50 bargain ben at Wal-Mart. jokerboy1991 writes: on Jul 21 2008 11:39 AM I actyually thought the first one was cool, then the second one was horrible, now since Diesal really sucks this will probably suck... I do hope Babylon AD is good, theres not enough good sci fi movies lately. (Reply to this) |

Goatmeal writes: on Jul 21 2008 11:43 AM XXX3 won't revive Diesel's faltering career as an action star. In fact, not even F&F4 will. Both franchises are past their prime and are things of the past (though F&F4 could be a moderate success). Diesel was demanding a$$loads of money to appear in F&F2 and XXX2, so when he didn't return for them, he lost some momentum with the fans. Then, when he starred in Pacifier, people just got confused and stopped caring. Now he's desperate to do whatever it takes to try to put his career back on track (by appearing in sequels to films in which made him in the first place). But it may be too little too late. kdbarrett writes: on Jul 21 2008 12:26 PM I liked the first one, it was a fun action movie as I recall. Haven't even thought of picking up the DVD, though... The second one, well it did have the interesting twist of the good guys being black and getting to blow the s%&* out of stuff and still remain the good guys. No white guys giving them permission to blow s%&* up. Too bad it didn't have a better actual story. And I beg to differ with doc.grizzly. Sam Jackson is, in fact, an actor and damn fine one at that. Vin and Ice (I can refer to them that way 'cause we're pals...) are performers who can occasionally be induced to act to some degrees. They are not in the same league with Mr. Jackson, however. rahjelli writes: on Jul 21 2008 12:55 PM ummm, didn't Sam make it a point to stress that Vin's body was found dead in Bora Bora in part 2 (an obvious slap to Vin for not coming back for the sequel)... Guess there will be a great spin on that to bring him back to life. Yeah Hollywood is running out of ideas alright. (Reply to this) |

rascal.within writes: on Jul 21 2008 02:23 PM cant comment much ,i guess vin been away for a while from the limelight . Sighs . Hope he could do it all the way , yet again with all his charm and Mascularity. LAWL! (Reply to this) |

stevalex writes: on Jul 21 2008 03:06 PM D***, what happened to the big action stars the 70s/80s set as standard? Nowadays, you just don't have that kind of star power...well, outside of a handful of actors/actresses (like Bale and Jolie). Everything just seems to have become too sanitized and recycled. However, I have to admit this summer had a few great action movies. It's definitely a step in the right direction. (Reply to this) |

dajosimp writes: on Jul 21 2008 03:47 PM I have to admit i actually enjoyed XXX2, but only because it was so horrible. Best scene... Sam L. totally shoots the bad girl in the head and goes, "I TOLD YOU YOU SHOUDLVE KILLED THE B*TCH!!" Seriously though, its sad, but i will see any movie with Ice Cube no matter how stupid it looks(he IS the nigga we love to hate after all). You know what else is sad? When you watch the Boiler Room and Pitch Black and realize Vin Diesel could have been at least a decent actor if he hadnt been thrown into the whole action star stereotype. Also, see Find Me Guilty, he is pretty funny in that and its definitely one of his better acting roles. (Reply to this) |

selke99 writes: on Jul 21 2008 05:58 PM Yeah, I was suprised how much I liked the first one. Could have been a franchise with Diesel. Guess he got an even bigger head. (Reply to this) |

John Z. Delorean writes: on Jul 21 2008 06:07 PM Diesel doesn't deserve a chance to get his once horrible now nonexistent career on track. He thought he was the biggest thing going and now he's probably back to working the door at some nightclub. He should've begged to be in the new Terminator as that would not required any acting out of him at all. Peace Vinny. (Reply to this) |

kissman24 writes: on Jul 21 2008 09:10 PM This is good news! I thought the original xXx was surprisingly good. I had no interest in seeing the xXx sequel once I discovered that Vin Diesel was not going to be involved. But I have to admit, if Diesel is involved in the next one, I'm right back on board. Crummy writes: on Jul 22 2008 12:14 AM Unlike most people I actual reserve more respect for an actor who does NOT do another money grabing sequal, purely for the sake of more dollars, and regardless of how **** the script is. If he had of actually been in the terrible piece of **** that was xxx2, he would have been even more crucified. So Im more inclined to second guess if I should be willing to go see any movie that has to anything to do with Rob Cohen if he's so willing to peddle out **** movies and has no regard for what the fans think. XtremeOne520 writes: on Jul 22 2008 12:58 AM Too much hate on Vin...don't get me wrong hollywood needs new ideas but I like what he has done...Pitch Black was awesome..F&F was fun same goes for XXX....Find me Guilty was a great acting portrayal and Babylon A.D. looks awesome. (Reply to this) |

Goatmeal writes: on Jul 22 2008 02:01 AM In reply to this comment (#1908519) You ARE aware that reason Diesel didn't star in the sequel is because he wanted MORE money that what the studio was willing to pay him, right? They felt he was too rich for their blood. So you just contradicted yourself. (Reply to this) |

bondfreak writes: on Jul 27 2008 09:07 PM The thing about this rumour is that it could go either way. The first one was pure blockbuster entertainment with amazing stunts, the second one sucked, I hated Ice Pube....oops was that out loud? and CGI was the films downfall. HOWEVER if Rob Cohen directs (cause he directed the first one and The Fast and the Furious) AND Vin Diesel stars.....we might have an intersting movie on our hands. The actions standards have been raised so high as of late (The Dark Knight, Casino Royale), but if this rumour is true....will Rob Cohen answer the call? (Reply to this) |
