Famke Janssen on Third "X-Men" Movie
by RT Staff | January 10, 2005

Famke Janssen hopes that she will be able to continue her role as Dark Phoenix in the third "X-Men" movie, she told Zap2it.com. Janssen said the script is in the works, and it may go into production this summer. However, it's unclear if Bryan Singer, who helmed the last two "X-Men" films, will direct; there are rumors that "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" director Joss Whedon may be the director of the third film.

Aliens?
Wasn't Dark Phoenix killed by aliens, I think called the Shi' ar? How will they adapt that for the film series? Maybe they will just change it to the Hellfire Club. I recall the comic was pretty good. It would be cool to see Colosus and that big Superman looking guy with the mohawk duke it out for Jean's life.

I really hope Joss Whedon directs this. As a HUGE fan of anything Buffy, I know he's got the talent and skills to do something really cool with X3. Yay...witty banter as Wolverine slices someone open! I wanna see Dark Phoenix and big f***in Sentinals! And I want a really evil Magento, throwing cars and stuff. yep, i'm a dork.

NO WHEDON PLEASE !!!!!!!!
i prey to god singer comes back to direct x3 ,cause god forbid joss whedon gets a hold of a decent franchise and turns it into some campy awful crap like buffy the vampire slayer. If joss whedon directs i feel another batman and robin coming on ,i walked out of that movie and more than likely will x3 if whedon directs.

I hope we see Famke again. I never found her 'death' at the end of number 2 very convincing, and after the hints I heard on the DVD commentary etc I had a suspicion she would make a comeback in a different form. After all, the commentary compared her to Obi Wan Kenobi from Star Wars. But I hope they keep the old director too, loudharley, because a change of director can be fatal. I'd be for it if the franchise needed a new director, like the Harry Potter films did, but this time it doesn't.

Famke rocks...she's so hot...Singer's most likely not going to be able to direct this one because he's tied up with Superman Returns...i guess...i just hope whoever directs doesn't turn it into campy bull and keeps it in serious mode...and i dig the Dark Pheonix storyline...its one of my favs.

Though I regret Synger ditched this project for "Superman", I would still give Whedon a chance. And I definitely want Famke as Dark Phoenix ! I think she's not only gorgeous but an excellent actress. I'm not foreseeing a truthful adaptation of the comic storyline of the Dark Phoenix saga. Screenwriters in the X-men movies have changed too many aspects of the past of the characters for storylines that work better on the big screen. I mean, can you really see the introduction of an alien race in the film saga ? It just wouldn't make any sense...

I'd love to see Joss do x3. Buffy has some of the most wonderful charecter development that I've ever seen on TV. Many people see it as a campy teen horror show, due to the fact that it started when the charecters were in highschool, but it's very well written and acted. If Joss directs x3, I hope he carries Drew Goddard over to help write the script.

And Famke does well with her role as Jean. I can't wait to see what she does with Dark Phoenix.

I love the horror genre, and I couldn't stand one whole episode of buffy the vampire slayer....
if they do an X3, I hope they introduce beast and sentinels.
